End of the Year Banquet At YNS Tzfas

Tzfat, Israel — This past Thursday YNS held its end of the year banquet at the home of the Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Orimland.

What a way to end the school year with two siyumim! Mazel Tov to Hatomim Moishele Hahn on his completion of Meseches Chagiga and to Hatomim Chaim Cowen on his completion of Meseches Megillah.

Warm words of chizuk to the bochurim were given by the Rebbeim of the yeshiva. Reb Avigdor related a message to the bochurim that they should take everything that they learnt over the year and put it into the real world. Just keep fighting and don’t give up. Everyone was given a fair chance upon arriving to the the yeshiva. You all worked on yourselves and succeeded greatly.

Presentations to the Rebbeim and bochurim were next. Yasher Koach to Hatomim Moishe Borodken and Hatomim Meir Roetter for being the most improved bochurim of the year.

Rabbi ‘O’ then invited bochurim to the podium to hear their messages.

Hatomim Moishe Borodken thanked everyone at the yeshiva for a wonderful year. I gained a lot this year.

Hatomim Moshe Lieder thanked everyone for being there for him and for helping him in every way possible.

Hatomim Chaim Cowen related how things didn’t go well at the first yeshiva he was at this year. He was thinking about leaving yeshiva in general after Pesach but his mother told him about YNS. After speaking to Rabbi ‘O’ for half an hour on the phone he decided to come here after Pesach. It was a great decision! The yeshiva did a lot for me even in the short time that I’ve been here. I’ve learnt more Chassidus here than anywhere else.

Hatomim Chaim Avrohom Rabinowitz stepped up next and said that he’s never been anywhere that you can have a lot of fun and learn at the same time. My davening got better and I’ve started to enjoy the learning – thanks to everyone!

Being a natural public speaker – Hatomim Chananya Levy told over his history before arriving to YNS. By Chanukah of this year I’ve already been at a couple of yeshivas. Nothing seemed to work out for me. I was depressed, had no self esteem, was angry at myself and with everyone around me and I felt I had no life. When I came to YNS I was so loud and uncontrolled. I also almost didn’t make it here either but I knew that if I got kicked out of here it would be the end of me. I thank Hashem that Rabbi ‘O’ had pity on me and he allowed me to stay on. I thank all the Rebbeim and the rest of the staff for boosting me in the real way. It’s not fake here. We’re all here for each other. It’s really one big happy family here. I look forward to camp and the next school year at YNS.

On conclusion Rabbi ‘O’ reminded the bochurim of how each one of them came to the yeshiva and how now at the end of the year they are all shining, smiling and blossoming. “You all grew in maturity and chassidishkiet and became real mentschen finishing the year as CHAMPS – each one on their own level.” he said. (Applause filled the room)

a huge yashar koach to rabbi ‘o’ (and all of the devoted staff at yns)for believing in our son the way we do. in such a short time you got to know c.a. from the inside out and you really understand him. your approach of nurturing the entire talmid, not just playing policeman has helped him to actualize what has been lying dormant for too long. hanging bait on a hook is beneath the dignity of a deep-thinking bochur to ‘perform’ on command and therein lies your success – by respecting the intrinsic dignity of each talmid and dealing with your students with honesty, clarity and genuine ahavas yisroel. looking forward to continued nachas from our son. thanks for all that you have done and continue to do for chaim avrohom.
    respectfully,
    chasha rabinowitz
