Hezbollah Operative Sentenced to 40 Years For NYC Terrorism Plot

A federal court sentenced Ali Kourani, a Lebanon born Hezbollah operative to 40 years behind bars for planning terror activities in New York City.

In a news brief, the US attorneys office said that Ali was connected to the Islamic Jihad organization, an arm of Hezbollah.

Ali had received terror training and instructions from the Lebanese organization, according to the brief, which led him to China, where he attempted to appropriate bomb making materials.

Kourani was also sentenced to 5 years of supervised release.
