International Chidon Sefer Hamitzvos Finals now Underway!
Brooklyn, NY — 175 contestants gathered this Shabbos in Crown Heights for the annual “International Chidon Sefer Hamitzvos Championship Finals”. The competition was inspired by the Rebbe’s request to unite Yidden through the study of the 613 Mitzvos of the Torah. The Rebbe repeatedly emphasized that this effort will hasten the coming of Moshiach.
This year, over 4,000 students from 96 schools worldwide have studied Rambam’s Sefer Hamitzvos. By participating and excelling in a series of preliminary tests, 175 finalists earned a place in the International Championships taking place this weekend here in Crown Heights.

The contestants began arriving this past Thursday afternoon and evening and visited the Ohel, then Friday took a test whose results will place the finalist on the stage for the upcoming final on Sunday and went roller skating.
The main event, the Finals, will take place on Sunday at 1:00pm in the George Wingate Auditorium located at 600 Kingston Avenue, tickets are available to the public, but there are a very limited number left, please call (347) 742-2782 for more information!

chidon is a really amazing program! why was it stopped by the girls? it gave girls the oppurtunity to learn things that they don’t regularly learn in school!
