Students Get Behind-the-Scenes Glimpse of Mikvah
As part of their training in practical Rabbonus, the students of Yeshiva Beis Menachem of Manalapan visited a local Mikvah.
Yeshiva Beis Menachem is a Semicha program part of Chabad of Western Monmouth County under the direction of Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Levi Y. Schapiro, and head Shliach Rabbi Boruch Chazanow. In addition to learning for Semicha, they spend time in different areas of Halacha, as part of their preparation for Rabbonus.
This week, the Bochurim, together with their Rosh Yeshiva, made a trip to a local Mikvah, where the bochurim where able to see the different techniques used to build a kosher Mikvah. The entire process, beginning from the roof where the rain water is collected, to the Bor Tevila inside, was explained to them by Rabbi Nosson Schachter, director of the Mikvah and an expert in construction of Mikvaos. The Bochurim were very greatful to have been able to see firsthand the “behind-the-scenes“ of a Mikvah.
Other hands-on experience of Halacha included recently the participation in a Beis Din to administer Gittin.

I’m not sure what language #2 is in, but if he is asking about a maakeh, the halacha is that it is not required.
