Another Gunman Loose at Virginia Tech

Virginia Tech goes into lock down.

Richmond, VA [CHI] – Reports are emerging from Virginia Tech University that a police officer has been shot; a possible second victim has been reported at a parking lot near the campus. The entire university is in Lock down mode, with security officials warning everyone to remain behind securely locked doors until the gunman is apprehended.

The suspect is described as a white male wearing gray sweat pants, gray hat with neon green brim, maroon hoodie and backpack, according to the Associated Press.

He was believed to be traveling on foot near McComas Hall, a campus gym.

Rabbi Tzvi Yaakov Zweibel, Direcor of new Chabad House at Virginia Tech (which was established in memory of Liviu Librescu, a heroic victim of the last Virginia Tech shooting rampage in 2007), told Crownheights.info that while basic security measures were being taken, everyone is remaining calm and awaiting further instructions from the campus security.

The shooting comes the same day as Virginia Tech is appealing a $55,000 fine by the Education Department in connection with the university’s response to a 2007 incident where a student gunman killed 32 students and faculty and then shot himself on the campus.

So long as they don’t allow people to carry guns on campus these things will keep happening.
