Joseph Fiel, 30, was arrested Wednesday and charged with breaking into a Brooklyn home then attacking and robbing the couple who live there.
Fiel has been charged with robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.
Police say he broke into the couple’s boro park home on 54th Street around 9 p.m. Monday.
The couple told police that two masked men broke into their home armed with box cutters. They were then tied up and robbed of cash and jewelry before taking off.
The couple was not injured.
Special thanks to the Boro Park Shomrim Division for their fast response. And to the alert neighbor who upon seeing the suspicious vehicle wrote down its license plate number which led police to this thug.

I hope that the victims will recover their property. Why couldn’t the thugs just have a plate or two of fried cabbage and noodles and leave? They wont be getting essen like that in prison! Into the Vistula (a river in Poland) with the lot of them!

B-H they caught the colprit. It’s important to be alert at all times and to think of taking down someone’s license when possible.
We’re very happy that the couple were not hurt. Still, it must have been a terrible experience that will remai with the couple for a long time. Let’s wish that this will be the worst that they will experience in the new year and that from now on, they will only have good news to report. G’mar Chasemah Tova.

everyone, take note of whats going on around you, care about your neighbors. This was a wonderful mitzva to write down the license plate even though the people were not directly involved.
When the word on the street gets around that thugs get caught and prosecuted, the crime can be lowered just as it was when HaShem blessed us with Mayor Rudy Guiliani. Halevai that we should have him back again.
