Guest and Keynote Speakers Announced For This Years Kinus
In a little under two months the International Kinus Hashluchim with over 2000 Shluchim worldwide will convene all under one roof for the annual banquet that takes place each year.
Recently CrownHeights.info has learned that the Keynote speaker this year will be R. Yosef Chaim Kantor the head Shliach to Thailand. Mr. Shmuel (Sami) Rohr, who heads the Rohr Family Foundation that support Shluchim around the world as well as programs headed up by Chabad, has been announced as the guest speaker.
Due to the increasing amount of Shluchim world wide that will be attending the Kinus this year the banquet has moved from its regular location at the Sheraton Hotel on 6th Ave in Manhattan to the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset, NJ, which can accommodate a massive 4000 people! The banquet be taking place on Sunday November 19.
for the Melamdim- the shluchm too
now that the banquet has moved to a bigger place, the kinus organizers should extend an invitation to all the Melamdim of our Yeshivos in Crown Heights-Since they Are doing their Shlichus too and should be concidered Shluchim and be part of the Shluchim convention.

On the one hand: Teachers leave the comfort of their homes each morning – are indeed admirably michanech tinoikois shel bais rabon – then return to the comfort of their own homes in the evening. They can stop on the way to any minyan of thier choice, any restaurant of their choice, any kosher food store of their choice. They can join together with friends in the evening and have a frequent farbrengen in 770. They can even enjoy time off on the weekends and Yomim Toivim. Shluchim, however – many don’t have any of the luxuries of the above.
On the other hand: It would seem that many teachers from various school abroad are encouraged to come to the Kinus. And while this may include those who are in Hicksville – there are many others in established cities – Israel, UK, Florida, etc. then the same should apply for Crown Heights.
The real question is: Is there a system? Or does it come down to whom you know?
One thing is clear: The ‘special head shliach code system’ – HSCS is the only power given to them to weild over ‘who can come and who cannot!’
A gemar chasima toivah!
proud of our CH Melamdim
I agree, because you are a melamed from out of town and because you teach in Morristown, Chicago, Detroit, California etc. you acquire the name Shliach, then for sure our Melamdim that give Lev V’nefesh to teach our children in Crown Heights be put in the spotlight as the Teachers of our future Shluchim. They belong at the Kinnus just the same. They are doing the same Shlichus as their out of town counterparts without the big homes and beautiful backyards.
Melamdim shluchim
I agree with in above comment concerning Melamdim. They are no less shluchim then the shliach running/working in a Chabad House.
They are the ones educating our further Shluchim. Shouldn’t they get any recognition from this, by being allowed to attend the Kinus!!!
