Yesterday [Wednesday] afternoon at around 4:00 a woman pushing a stroller with her child on Crown St between Brooklyn and Kingston was approached by two Black males one of which was brandishing a gun when they demanded her purse. The woman reacted by running out to the middle of the street and began screaming for help.

The two perps began fleeing towards Brooklyn Ave when the police was notified and responded immediately. The gun toting mugger was apprehended and taken down to the Precinct where the victim successfully picked the perp out of a lineup.

Yet Another Attempted Mugging At Gun Point, In Broad Daylight

The two perps began fleeing towards Brooklyn Ave when the police was notified and responded immediately. The gun toting mugger was apprehended and taken down to the Precinct where the victim successfully picked the perp out of a lineup.

Hats off to the officers that responded to the call apprehending the mugger and removing the gun from the streets.

    You know whats sick. These animals think we are just sitting ducks. Like they are at a bufeet. Why don’t they rob their own!! Leave us alone already. Not to mention how dumb they are that they still attempt something so stupid as robbing a women with kids in the heart of crown heights like kingston/brooklyn and crown at 4 in the afternoon erev yom tov when not only are thee hundeds of regular people on the street but hundreds of extra people in for Tishrei.

    I walked past the apartment building on crown corner Kingston (the one towards Brooklyn Ave) I think it was Tuesday about the same time (4pm) when I saw a young black boy, maybe 14 year of age with a gun on his back, sticking out of his shorts, and instead of his T-Shirt covering it, it was stuck on the handle of the gun revealing it. Only the back handle of the gun was visible the rest was in his shorts/boxers. When I past him I said "hey what’s that sticking out of your boxers?’ the kid like laughed and said "oh thank you" while he covered the gun with his shirt". i called the cops and shomrim. i wasn’t sure if the gun was revealed by mistake or he was playing a joke on the bystanders. At any rate a gun is never a joke.
    i wonder if this is the same kid as the story on Wednesday with the woman and here child. The gun (the handle) i saw was shiny silver? Anybody have any info what color the gun from the Wednesday story was?

    While I do commend the woman for what she did, I still think that this is a very dangerous situation. On one hand this woman is insanely stupid, what if the mugger would have gotten spooked and shot her for not going down quietly. On the other she is extremely courageous and fearless, taking this ‘chalereh’ off the streets.

    Allowing ones self to succumb to such a threat is an open invitation for ti to happen again, so on hand you don’t do anything and you don’t get hurt yet on the other side of the coin this can go ahead and happen to someone else. Standing up making a hero out of ones self and possibly getting injured or havens forbid worse… yet on the other side of this coin is the fact that you prevent it from happening, and how word travels within the circles of these criminal it would deter it from happening in the future.

    Bottom line is… I don’t know…

    I stopped walking around with any jewelery and if I take money I hide it. I think ppl should start doing the same cuz quiet honestly I dont think these muggings are stopping anytime soon. We all know that the cops dont care and why the media hasnt been called yet is beyond my comprehension. If this would happen in any other neighborhood the media would be around and that would force the police to do what they are surposed to.
