The situation in Eretz Yisroel is painful. Two weeks ago a soldier was kidnapped, this week another two were kidnapped, today a soldier died from his wounds that he got while trying to free his friends from a burning tank, the soldiers in the tank died. Civilians are being targeted in Tzfat and other northern locations. Ad Mosai?
At this time of year, as we remember the destruction of the Beis HaMikdosh, Our Rebbe said that destruction was caused by sins. To build a foundation for re-construction, said the Rebbe, we need to do the opposite of sinning, which is adding in Mitzvahs.

At this time of year, as we remember the destruction of the Beis HaMikdosh, Our Rebbe said that destruction was caused by sins. To build a foundation for re-construction, said the Rebbe, we need to do the opposite of sinning, which is adding in Mitzvahs.
All summer camps are urged to participate in this world wide campaign to Add-A-Mitzvah. Each child should take on an appropriate extra Mitzvah. The name of the camper, mother’s name, age of camper, name of camp and location of camp should be written on slips of paper to be sent to a central location, where the notes will be forwarded to Eretz Yisroel and random notes will be picked to be read to more than a hundred thousand people.
The seventh of Av, corresponding to August first, has been declared Gush Katif Day. There will be major events in Yerushalaim on that day. One of the highlights of the day will be when children of Gush Katif come on stage and reach into a container with thousands of Mitzvah Notes from children around the world, and then read the names and Mitzvos that children have taken upon themselves. The Mitzvohs are dedicated to stopping the tragedies in Eretz Yisroel and re-building the Beis HaMikdosh.
When a camp gathers the children to participate in this campaign, they are urged to add Torah, Tefila and Tzedaka to the event, with the intent that they want to help prevent future destruction in Eretz Yisroel.
Pre-formatted Mitzvah notes, and a pre-stamped envelope to return the notes to a central office, are available immediately, so that all the Mitzvah notes arrive in Yerushalaim on time for Gush Katif Day. IYH.
Please register your camp right away and you will be sent your pre-formatted notes and pre-stamped envelope to send them back to the central location. This project is in coordination with the Dror Vanunu, formerly with the municipality of Neve Dekalim in Gush Katif, currently the International Director of the Gush Katif Committee.

Progress Report: We already have tens of camps representing thousands of children taking on a Mitzvah for the security of Eretz Yisroel. Please help us get in touch with more camps, for more Mitzvohs. The Rebbe wants us to add in Mitzvos to help rebuild the Beis HaMikdosh.
