Kloister Purchased by a Crown Heights Developer

The Building purchased clean of all its symbols and markings

The Kloister that had been on Albany Ave. next door to the Matzah Bakery has been purchased by a real estate developer in Crown Heights. After the closing the first thing done was to remove to signs and symbols off the front of the building followed by a Minyan for Mincha in the building.

This was such an anoyance, I lived on that corner, they had doors open with music, kids were curious whats going on in there, I could not wait till yid get the building. BH

We’d like to thank all Anas"h members of CH, with whom’s money it was bought.

Kudas to R. Dovid Fisher for devoloping and helping the community. Thank You

  • CHer

Glad that someone from the community purchased the property… but just remeber his only intention is too make some more cash…

What the street really needs is another ice cream shop where our youth can congregate inside and out. The one on Kingston is getting too small for the crowds.

  • Itzik_s

Whoever it is should have much hatzlocho. One less piece of tumoh in kan tziva Hashem es habrocho.

  • Shchuna resident

Rabbi fischer you did it again! Your hard work and efforts to preserve our community and to develop it should continue to bless you and your activities.

  • fedup

Great now he owns another building,
is he going to start helping our community yet or will he just steal more money somehow and line his pocket more

annoyed with "real estate mogul, also known as slum lord"

  • Neighbor on Albany

I live near that corner its amazing that Fischer is still concerned to salvage this neighborhood and to develop it and provide affordable housing.

  • Resident of CH

Shame on the JCC why didnt they or other developers buy this site. Thats why Fischer deserve around of applause. He always helped the community and continues to help we should be ashamed of ourselves we are at his mercy.

  • Chasid

Why dont they say who the real estate developer is??? Its Fischer to the rescue..Popack Sperlin give fischer your real estate that house undesirable tenants in the center of the neighborhood he will convert our neighbord to a true Kan Ziva Hashem Es Habracha and make the Rebbe proud..

  • Chaim

It seems that the only person who was and is still the one that built up crown Heights the way the Rebbe wants – is Rabbi Dovid Fischer

  • developer ???????????????

Why because of what the Rebbe said about him , what did you forget the Rebbe or the Sicha ?

  • R L

Sad to say, but it was better in the hands of Goyim then in the hands of Fisher

very interesting to see the history of that building.

in 1976 a jewish lady name
    Lefkowitz Helen
sold the building to a company name:
462 464 Albany Ave Rlty Corp
thats is represented by a jewish lewyer name:

it looks like that corporation is ownd by and arab name: Hesham Hussein
    425-50 St
    Brooklyn NY 11220
in 2005 the corp transferd the deed to :
    Husein, Hashem S
    425 50ST.
    Brooklyn NY 11220
    Husein, Adel

    Abdallah, Walid Saleh
    7106 10TH Avenue
    Brooklyn NY 11228
    2005-08-19
The kloyster was just a renter of the store front .

and the adjacent buliding was owend by :

    Fischer, David

    in 1976

and was transferd to Chevra Machzikei Hashchuna Inc

    in 1979

  • Dovid the Ganav

Fisher the ganav again, it is amazing how people justify an outright ganav just for politics. Years ago before the parties split, he was muktzah machmas miyus. Someone who gave the rebbe tzaros.
Why should he suddenly become, mutar, let alone a hero!!!

    Oh, its a shverer galus!

There are 4 lots on the N/W Corner of Empire & Albany

    (1) 460 Albany Ave is the Matzo bakery which is owned by the KORF FAMILY TRUST
    (2) 462 Albany Ave. this is the CHURCH which David Fischer just bought
But there is NO REACORD YET OF THE SALE

    (3) 466 Albany Ave. which David Fischer already owns

    (4) 468 Albany Ave, this 1 is on the corner is owned by “MATZLIACH REALTY,
LLC” which is owned by MEIR JUNIK of – QUALITY CARE CLEANERS INC

    So my question is
    A. Will FISCHER include all “4 lots in his new development (the Cleaners & THE MATZA bakery)? Or only the 2 middle buildings that he owns now “462 & “466. ?

  • isaac

A few shuls have heard they might move in, also including Mishkan Menachem.

  • Schwei Follower

I don’t understand the few negative comments against Rabbi Fischer? According to my Rav, Horav Schwei Shlita – the Bais Din of Crown Heights is not a "Bais Din Kavua" – therefore Fischer had full right to choose which Bais Din to go to. Therefore the whole so-called "ban" against him for not appearing before the Badatz Davka is a farce and a fake!
    Thank you Horav Schwei Shlita.

    He’s no fool,

When Drizin’s (crown St.) Condos are complete, the property will become very valuable.

I heard that he is donating the building to the community council.

  • Thank You

Thank you! I can look out my window without having to see that awfull thing. Thank you! Much Hatzlocho

Dovid Fisher you are the greatest and the best. you are doing more good for this community then anyone else. May you be blessed by Hashem and may you go from strength to strength, and may you vanquish all your enemies so that you can devote all your energies to build this community. Remember! your enemies are the enemies of CH.

  • curious

If i am not mistaken I think the Rebbe said not to say who he is talking about, when you might be mentioning some things the Rebbe spoke about. Who is going against the REbbe now?
Stop being jelous of someone elses money. I think that is one of the original ten commandments. The ones we got at sinai from Hashem.
Who in this community has helped people as much as DOvid Fischer?

    To clarify:
    Here are some FACTS:
    1. Rabbi Dovid Fischer was NEVER in cherem. The Badatz put a niduy on him, not a CHEREM. There is a vast difference.
    2. the Badatz claimed Rabbi Fischer refused to give over the books. This is a lie, since he did give them over, every single one of them.
    3. After receiving his books and realizing how vast his property holdings were, some people like Brook and others, manipulated the Badatz into a master plan to steal his real estate. The Beis Din, urged on by the schemers behind the scenes, planned on finding Rabbi Fischer guilty no matter what the evidence, so they could then take his buildings.
    4. Rabbi Fischer knew the Badatz and their associates were after his money so he refused to appear before this Beis Din. Rabbi Fischer requested a zablah instead, which was well within his halachik rights to do so. The Beis Din refused him a zablah stating that he had no right to it. Funny nowadays certain Rabbonim sing a different tune about zablahs when it comes to themselves.
    5. The niduy was obstensibly put on Rabbi Fischer because he was mesarev a Beis Din, but this was not the case at all. He simply did not want to go to this Beis Din, because they were negaya b’daver against him. The niduy was completely baselss, and many Rabbonim held (in Lubavitch as well) that it was not worth the paper it was written on.
    6. The schemers made a slander campaign against Rabbi Fischer, and used thuggery to chase him out of town, but as we can all see , it ultimately failed.
    7. The Beis Din and the Vadd Hakohol spent hundreds and thousands of dollars of community money and wasted over two decades in goysihe court trying to win lawsuits against Rabbi Fischer to get his real estate, and they never won.
    8. Rabbi Fischer is no longer in niduy (actually he never really was in reality) as the Beis Din recently took it off. Rabbi Fischer went to Moshe Rubashkin and told him that he was going to sue the Vaad Hakohol for ‘malicious litigation’ for tens of millions of dollars for all the years that the Vaad spent trying to win lawsuits against him. Moshe was not stupid and knew that Rabbi Fischer could probably win that case and so he made the wise decision, and along with Rav Osdoba they made peace with Rabbi Fischer and retraced the niduy.

  • informed

typo correction from above post—that was ‘retracted’ the niduy.

And this all proves that Rabbi Fischer is not the greedy charlatan that the Badatz and the Vaad Hakohol always said he was, because Rabbi Fischer could have won tens of millions of dollars in a malicious litigation lawsuit against the Vaad Hakahol, but instead he agreed to withdraw the law suit as long as the niduy was taken off. A truly greed person would have gone for the money, but Rabbi Fischer wanted didn’t.

  • Peace for Israel

Its a time for shleimus haaretz we are the Eretz Yisrael in the US Make peace with Fischer and acknowledge his good deeds and dont make conclusion about his false cherem/niduy. Peace in Crown Heights will hopefully have an effect on the peace of Israel.

  • Israel

I still cannot understand how absurd the whole din torah of the vaad hakohol against Dovid Fisher was. Here was a vaad Harabonim who was on the payrol of the vaad hakohol. How could such rabonim consider themselves impartial? The right thing for the Rabonim to do would have been to say that "since we are nogea b’dovor we are disqualified". The Gemara in Kesubos tells of na story that one of the Baalei din met one of the rabonim on the street and went over to blow a feather off his shoulder. seeing this the rov said "I am disqualified to participate in your beis din." How much more so when the entire Beis Din is on the payroll of the vaad hakohol? And to think that Dovid Fisher would be so stupid as to agree to appear before such a beis din defies logic. Wake up C.H. and realize that all these years when Dovi Fisher was driven away C.H. stagnated. Thank G-d Dovid Fisher is back and he will make C.H. bloom. Only Dovid Fisher can do it no one else has the Kochos from the Rebbe to do it. The only ones who should be driven out are the baalei machlokes, because they are the ones who are trying to destroy our neighborhood.

  • Anti Mishichist =Anti machlokes

They tryed to do the same thing that they did to Fisher to the Hershkop’s in the Machna Minachem story.
It’s the samw story as-informed- wrote above.
in the end true justice/truth/emesh came out.

"Funny nowadays certain Rabbonim sing a different tune about zablahs when it comes to themselves."

yes, don’t you know that Halocha changes like the weather.

  • to misinformed....

If as you wrote so nicely,

why did he go to Israel?

why did he NEVER came to the rebbe for the last decade before gimmel tamuz?

and now sudenly he goes to the ohel,
why did he not do as the rebbe told his wife "what would be so bad for him to lose one Zero and make peace with everyone".

dont be a misnaged and change history to your liking.
    just remember be carefull.

  • Itzik_s

I would be very inclined to believe Rabbi Fischer’s side except that the Rebbe made it very clear that Fischer was to go to beis din. Still, at this point, he deserves another chance, and no matter what, the fact is that unlike some CH landlords, Fischer’s buildings are filled with yidden and not crime problems.

  • be carefull????

"Don’t be a misnaged and change history to your liking.
    Just ——————-remember be careful".

    What????
Is there a hit-man out there???

In fact, the people that made all the trouble for Fisher or the Hershkop’s (or anybody that went to court) they are the ones that have to be careful.
Now I’m no prophet so I can’t say for sure, but most of the people involved in the trouble making have either lost there pants or g-d forbid…..

    >why did he go to Israel?

Why shouldn’t he have? He was being terrorized and slandered by the Vaad Hakohol and their cronies, so he wanted to protect his wife and children from that, to his credit, he always maintained a residence in CH (on Morngomery street) and came here at least monthly, sometimes more, and several of his family members got married here and stayed. He could have easily washed his hands of CH (and Lubavitch) but he didn’t, he kept investing here and he kept his buildings Jewishly occupied, unlike the Vadd Hakohol, which gave buildings away to the goyim. He never gave up on the community’s potential and the Rebbe’s vision.
    >why did he NEVER came to the rebbe for the last decade before gimmel tamuz?

You have no way of knowing if this is in fact true, but he had correspondence with the Rebbe all along, and the slander and terror campaign the Vaad Hakohol waged against him was so fierce, that his safety could have been compromised if he had been seen walked into certain places.

    >why did he not do as the rebbe told his wife "what would be so bad for him to lose one Zero and make peace with everyone"

It is highly unlikely the Rebbe ever said this to Mrs. Fischer, and if he did, so what? In its entire context this statement could mean something different altogether, the Rebbe could have even been referring to the other side.

    >dont be a misnaged and change history to your liking.
    just remember be carefull

Where is your ahavas yisroel for your fellow Yidden, even Rabbi Fischer? You think your hatred of him makes you such a greise chosid? Feh!

  • owns my home through hard work

    Everyone’s still muttering about Fischer!!

    WHO CARES???

One tumadik place less in CH is great…let the Cheder dorm move in, they’re bursting out of their skin in that basement apt.

    All you kvetchers……YOU’RE ONLY JEALOUS!!!

Perhaps if you rolled out of bed at a normal time, davened WITH A MINYAN AT A DECENT TIME, GOT SKILLS & GOT PROPER JOBS you could also invest in property.

How many of you cheat the govt w/ Medicaid, food stamps, section 8 etc. Etc. That seems to be OK.

Maybe one day you’ll be clean & not rip off the community since you’re all so self-righteous.

Leave Fischer alone. He survived all this garbage. Go after the ones who are really destroying CH. ***
