you can run but you can’t hide from G-d.

if Tzfat is too dangerous, try Hevron!

  • Please

<<you can run but you can’t hide from G-d.

if Tzfat is too dangerous, try Hevron!>>

That of course is in contradiction with halacha and common sense, but who cares.

I heard they arrived, trying to go to sleep but finding somwhere else meanwhile since they are close to Chaifa.

may all the yiddin in israel and all over the world be safe "befrat" in israel that hashem said its the safeist place

  • Please, Please Clarify

does that mean that all the families that are keeping their children in Tzfat are going against Halacha and common sense?

how does that relate to the Rebbe telling us to stay in a certain place in Brooklyn when there were Jews being murdered with frequency, ie in the seventies. would not the Rebbe want us to stay in Tzfat at least as much as he wanted us to stay in Brooklyn?

are you saying it is Halacha and common sense that you can hide from G-d?

there is a famous joke about the guy who wanted to be saved from a flood and every time a rescue car/boat/helicopter came to get him he said no G-d will save me then when he drowned and came yo G-d and complained G-d told him i sent you 3 things

the moral is its haipuch haTorah to stay in a mokoim sakana obviously in special scenarios when there is a horoas shoah from a navi a tzaddik and most certanly our rebbe we must heed

however i didnt hear any sort of horoa or directive and i believe that if those who run the camp would not do all in their power to make sure their campers are safe it would be a clear case of pshiah if c”v something were to go wrong

Chosid, Why don’t you stand on Eastern Parkway during rush hour and see how many cars you can avoid! It’s Kan Tziva…. nothing can happen!!
You can’t run or hide from G-d, but you’re also not supposed to put yourself in danger!

So CNN reported Chabad running away and leaving everyone who had no place to run. And these kids have hats! They are not exactly seven year olds! If only CNN had reported on the Chabadnikim who traveled to Tzfat to bring Shabbos supplies to those families who needed help. Included with the wine and Challah they brought good cheer and Chassidic spirit to the ones who are scared and worried. How do you think those people felt when they saw Chabad-on-the-Run?!

When Kfar Chabad was attacked, the Rebbe did not say to run. Concerning Eretz Yisroel, I do not know of a time when the Rebbe said to retreat under fire. Especially when there are people who cannot run and need to the encouragement that only a Shliach of the Rebbe can give.

By Shliach I do not mean someone registered at the Shluchim office. What I mean by Shliach is defined at the beginning of Malka Touger’s book, Excuse Me, Are You Jewish. She tells the story of when Rabbi Garelik first went to Milan. He met someone who told him he did not belong in Milan because it was not such a clean city. Garelik answered, "The Rebbe wants to tidy it up. I am the Rebbe’s broom."

Those boys who ran missed an opportunity to do an incredible Shlichus, giving people encouragement, giving them the opportunity to put on Tefilin, light Shabbos candles, you name it. Let them make sure everyone has a Siddur, Tehilim, Tanya and pushka in their home. The Rebbe said it is for safety. Now is when the people will be receptive.

Your comment implies that staying in Tzfat is like going into the middle of Eastern Parkway. Are you saying that every person who does not evacuate from Tzfat – it is as if he is standing in the middle of Eastern Parkway? That anyone who does not run is putting himself in untold danger and relying on a miracle? And that staying in Tzfat has the same value as standing in the middle of Eastern Parkway?

To have Mesirus Nefesh to stand in the middle of Eastern Parkway… what for? To have Mesirus Nefesh to stay in the city of Tzfat… do you see any merit in that? Chabad Chassidim have ventured to the front lines during war in order to put Tefilin on soldiers. I am sure there are some who would say that is against Halacha.

Each situation has its risks and its merits. Standing in the middle of Eastern Parkway has maximum risk with no merit.

The damage to moral to see young, strong boys who dress like Chabanikim to run out at the first sign of danger, is sad.

Not one family moved from Gush Katif because of the mortars and kassams. And you probably think they were going against Halacha. Well, you and the Sharon, Olmert, Peres dignitaries got your way.

Right now the whole north of the county and parts of the south are under fire. I suppose you think they are all going against Halacha unless they run to… run to… where is there to run to? New York! Eastern Parkway here we come!

I would not judge the kids for sure, or even the staff that is responsible for them – they have to answer to hysterical American parents; I couldn’t say if it was my kid that I would say "stay, go ahead". It’s different if you are stationed there l’chatchila

BUT, halevei credit should be given to those brave and courageous ones that did stay and give moral support to the community – but they might have had a yellow flag on their lapel, so that pasels all the good they do (sarcastic, in case you’re not sure)

U big brave man!!! I cant believe how strong u r standing up for what is right and just. . . It brings tears to my eyes. . .
