Would Be Shoplifter Arrested

Wednesday evening at around 7:00pm a black male dressed in black and wearing a big cross around his neck walked into The Shuk Supermarket and attempted to walk out with two big boxes of Tide laundry detergent. Employees at the store noticed this and began chasing the shoplifter up Kingston Ave then onto Lefferts Ave where they stopped him, he then pulled out a knife and threatened anyone that comes close to him. One of the employees then took a daring move and wrestled the knife from the shoplifter’s possessions.

Police were called and responded in large numbers, upon talking to the store employees they proceeded to arrest the shoplifter. The perp appeared to be over 50 years of age.

    That shoplifter blew it! If he had fled with Arm & Hammer or Wisk, nobody would have bothered. But for such a pricey item they had no choice but to chase him. Next time, perhaps as early as next week after his release when he is on East New York Avenue, he will grab only low priced items. Rav Nachas.

    obviously, the employee only tried to take the knife away if he realized he could do it. so what r all these comments about him being stupid? and the shoplifter deservesd to go to jail. if it had not have been done now, then when?

    Before you decide that crownheights is so full of crime I suggest you be smart and check up the stats of crime where you live. You’ll be very surprised to find out that on a regular night in any american city there are several robberies, shootings, muggings, car accidents etc. Most are not newsworthy and you don’t hear about them. SO I SUGGEST YOU RETRACT YOUR COMMENT AND APOLOGIZE TO EVERYONE FOR THAT UNTHOUGHOUT COMMENT. Crownheights is like eretz Yisroel and Eretz Yisroel is the safest place on earth.

    Being there at the scene, it was the officer who removed the knife from the perp not the store owner.
