At around 7:45 this evening residents on Montgomery St between Kingston and Albany were witness to one of the most bizarre accidents. A black Lincoln Town Car, Licensed to a Car Service, was speeding in reverse from Albany going towards Kingston, upon reaching the middle of the block the car lost control and plowed into 4 parked cars, all of which are owned by Jewish residents of the community.

The incident began on Empire Blvd and Brooklyn Ave where this Car Service was allegedly involved in a minor accident with a blue Ford Taurus and attempted to flee from the scene, the Ford followed the Car Service and blocked it at Montgomery and Albany, which is when the Car Service attempted to reverse down the block.

Stolen Car Service Wrecks Havoc On Montgomery St

At around 7:45 this evening residents on Montgomery St between Kingston and Albany were witness to one of the most bizarre accidents. A black Lincoln Town Car, Licensed to a Car Service, was speeding in reverse from Albany going towards Kingston, upon reaching the middle of the block the car lost control and plowed into 4 parked cars, all of which are owned by Jewish residents of the community.

The 2 occupants of the Car Service, the driver and a passenger both middle aged black males, both fled the wreck. Residents who had witnessed the crash shouted “Chaptzem” which prompted a chase where resident came out of their houses to assist and successfully apprehended the passenger. However the driver was chased down to Fenimore St where he ran into a building and disappeared.

Large numbers of Shomrim Members responded to the numerous calls regarding the incident, which in all the chaos was misunderstood to be a small scale riot. The NYPD which had responded in large numbers as well, had received the call as “Shots Fired” and “Jews holding a Black”. The Car Service was determined to be a stolen vehicle, and the passenger was cuffed and taken down to the precinct.

    actually there were at least 5 parked cars damaged. 3 mini vans smashed together in a sandwich, a mini van in front of it lost part of his bumper and a car had the actual (still running!) stolen vehicle lodged into its side until the cops kindly turned it off than moved it.

    btw, the cops arriving at the scene came flying from both directions up into a street packed with people in a very reckless and dangerous way to a non emergency. and if they thought it was a shooting then they were extremely slow to arrive.

    I heard a lot of screaming and noise outside, so I went out for a peek. I couldn’t believe my eyes.

    And before everyone starts with this "shvartzeh" stuff, just remember that the victim– the guy in the blue car– was black too, and that he was very cool when I spoke to him. We chatted and he was a really nice guy, who seemed more happy to have helped in the chase than he was upset about his lost mirror. Remember: racism is always dangerous!

    Actually, the reason why the police responded so fast is that they thought the car service was a double parked car from Union Limo and they were rushing to ticket it……… :)

    i live on crown st bw kingston and albny and i herd a big bang and i said u will see tomorrow on crown heights .info u will see there was an collision.and it was true

    everybody knows teh joke about the guy who wakes up in middle of the night and hears noise in his garage calls teh police and waits 5 minutes and they dont show he calls again and waits and again they dont show he calls the third time saying that he is the guy who called twice about the noise in his garage just tell teh officers they dont have to come because he hot them already and he will take care of the bodies himself within seconds there were 5 police cars on the scene!!!!!

    the cops fly over to catch meters and warn us of the illegality of putting a quarter in someone else’s meter.
    G-d forbid we are really threatened and no one’s there on time, they’re all on kingston giving tickets, yemach shemum.

    This is a good time to mention. that CH residents and Shomrim were trying to aprehend the perps. to make CH safe, no matter who the victim is. I am sure the driver of the blue car was very happy that all the Jews were helping him. As well as all the owners of the parked vehicles.

    I was walking on Empire & Albany at around 8:20, when I noticed a NYPD patrol car speeding down Albany, making a right onto Empire. There were a couple of yungeleit on the north side of Empire trying to flash down the NYPD by shouting across the street and pointing towards Albany to point them in the direction where they witnessed one of the Passengers of the stolen car run. The female African-American officer stopped the car after turning on Empire. and asked the Yungleit on the PA system of the patrol car. Why tey were screaming at them?

    I witnessed this incident from begining to end, the person who held him down was not from shorim, shomrim did nothing except direct traffic very professionally. I think that Shomrim are great and I love them but (for a pleasant change) the police beat the shomrim.

    It’s bad enough when you get a parking ticket, but to get a parking ticket when your car is legally parked? The NYPD investigated a traffic officer who was ticketing legally parked cars in Long Island City, and officer Nivea Cloud resigned after being charged with "falsifying records, official misconduct, and filing false parking tickets." The Post’s source says Cloud may have been ticketing the legally parked cars because "it was easier than going out to look for illegal parked cars where she was assigned." Ai. The tickets were voided, but we wonder if the problem only became clear when the drivers complained.

    The IBO says it pays to fight your parking ticket, and here are some tips on how to do so. And if the NYPD tries to convince us that police officers don’t totally have a quota of tickets to write, we’re not buying it!

    Webby give credit were credit is due first of all the big thanks goes to the brave local guys who chased both perps and who caught and held one of the guys for 10 minutes until the cops came. None of us were from either Shmira or Shomrim and neither of them assisted in restraining the guy.

    1) Thanks goes to ******* for initially apprehending the guy and keeping the guy calm.
    2) Thanks to Mr. ******** for relieving ********* and helping me hold the guy until the cops made the arrest.

    she is saying the general attitude of the police is bad.in this situation they were fine(cuz it sounded like a black was in trouble-so the cops came running)but the problom is when a jew is really in trouble and the cops couldnt care less

    i was right there when they were chasing the shvartzah if they would not have held him till the last second he would have ran away. i stood guard there so that he shouldnt run onto the sidewalk and get away.
    there were like four guys holding him he was getting fits. There was another shvartzah in and escalade watching from the street. I think he was making sure so that no one would hit him. I cant determine his age. anybody know how old he was or about?

    That is giving credit to the residents, I keep saying that people need to call “Chaptzem!” when they see something, and not to be afraid of a persuit, and it works as well all saw at this incident.

    Shomrim arrived after all the “action” as did the NYPD, it’s the residents that did it all!

    I’m not denying what you wrote. Nor am i saying it is true, but it is obvious (if it is true) that the CHers would have a reason not to like police who come running with twenty cars for a parking ticket or for having a black as victim of Jew…and then come twenty minutes late with one police car for when a Jew is the victim of the black.

    While everyone is complaining about the NYPD and crediting Shomrim, I would like to mention one thing. The NYPD obviously aren’t crazy about their job, but they do arrest when needed. Thank You to Shomrim and Shmira for all efforts in making CH safe. A thank you also goes to the NYPD who arrests (their real job).

    Is it really illegal to put a quarter in someone else’s meter? What if it’s your son’s or daughter’s car, or someone else’s that you know? How can they decide who has a right to pay for the parking spot? Also, what are those tips to fight parking tickets that were mentioned? I didn’t see them. Maybe they were posted with a different article. Thanks.

    The problem is that they arrest some of the wrong people for borderline misdemeanors, and let some of the worst scum go free (cf the arrest of the chossid from out of town for getting out of his car vs the burglar who claimed he was the landlord getting off and then getting caught again).

The problem ALWAYS comes back to the community council. If they stopped Massering on each other, got some Achdus, supported our residents and did what they were "elected" to do & lost their personal egos, we may stand a chance.

    Webby…can you let top brass @71st Precinct see the views of the locals? Send him links to your site & see if he’ll read the comments of the last month. My guess is Vega/Varga/whatever doesn’t know how we feel. After all, he never walks in the street & speaks to ordinary folks, does he? And don’t give me this stuff about the precinct meetings.

    Truth is, the council & Police Head Honchos do have something in common. Neither is in touch with reality. Both want fame…and fortune.
