Accident on Eastern Pwky. And Albany Ave.

At 12:30 this afternoon a member of Anash was driving down the service lane on Eastern Parkway and at the intersection of Albany Ave he was struck by an oncoming SUV.

Neither drivers sustained any injuries and there was light damage to the Lubavitcher’s car. Police responded in just over 20 minutes, and were extremely unprofessional and rude, they only took a witness from one driver and did not want to hear the other driver, when the driver demanded a Patrol Supervisor [which must be summonsed upon request] the officer’s responded that they don’t have to do anything.

The driver called 911 to complain and they in turn dispatched the supervisor, who arrived on scene 2 minutes after the officers left, and upon hearing the complaints he said there was nothing for him to do and they should refer to the proper “Review Boards” and file complaints. [Ed. Note: this being the Civil Complaint Review Board which can be reached VIA 311]

What exactly are the Police supposed to do? Write tickets when they do not have the proper information as to cause? If nobody needed an ambulance, doesn’t insurance take care of the rest? Can somebody please explain me the law?

Please follow up and do what the cop said. File a complaint with the Civil Complaint Review Board. They know that most people are too lazy to put in a little effort to file this report. But when enough people submit these complaints and these cops start loosing promotions they will have to change their attitude.

Also, please attend the monthly 71st Precinct Police meetings, which take place every 3rd Thursday of the month at the school right across the police station.
You can talk directly to C.O. Frank Vega and you can bring up any issue that is important to you.

Is someone documenting this whole BS we’re getting from the Police?? Is Batia Brandel of the CHJCC made aware of this website and all that’s going on in our Community??

I can’t believe it. It’s 2006 and the Police could care less about us here. It seems that we have no voice, no power and, in general, we’re law abiding citizens, and we’re made to feel like *&#$ what’s the word I’m looking for??

Very sickening, to say the least.

Have a good yom tov everyone.

i got 2 things to say:
1 – chanina, if cops only hear one side of the arguement and not the whole story – that in itself is a major issue of carelessness.
2 -Toshav Hashchunah, does it really matter if Batia Brandel knows about this website or not!? – It’s not as if the CHJCC can do anything about this continuing situation anyways! They are voices which generally aren’t heard or listened to.
