  4) The Elections will take place with the same current conditions as far as: that each voter will be able to decide to vote for 1 or for 2 or for 3 Candidates. Whichever Candidate gets more than 50% of the vote will be part of the Badatz.

  Look, nothing is perfect. The whole situation is a major mess and no one has the monopoly on being right – all parties involved handled it the wrong way to some extent.

  But by voting at least we express our feelings that things need to change. Rabbi Zirkind is an independent type (if he is like the rest of his family) and Rabbi Raitport is not for sale to anyone either (for money or kovod or anything else); perhaps once they get on board they can act as a catalyst for peace (I do not know Rabbi Segal at all).

  Let’s hope for the best. CH has suffered enough between the infighting, the tznius and off the derech teens, and lately this crime wave. Of course the only answer is to do all we can to bring Moshiach now – but if this brings peace to the shchuna and I think it can, then we have made a step in the right direction.

  Rav Osdoba reportedly gave Rubashkin a Heter to count each vote 2 times to make sure there will be adequate Mandate but he wasn’t sure if he could count it 3 times. That would depend on the approval of the majority of all the Candidates. We are "Democratic" after all and all candidates must be consulted on this.

  Rubashkin cliamed that he is not sure if counting each vote twice woud give him the needed number of votes. Don’t worry said the other candidate, we can always get our Rav to reverse himsel if we are not satified with the Outcome.

  The next step is that Rov Osdoba and Rov Shvei should continue to talk and come up with a plan (and appoint serious, sincere baal Habatim to make REAL elections) to expand the Beis Din.

  For years he was feeding us with kitniyos oil on Pesach (in the Tuna fish), refusing to let another Rov to participate in Kashrus. Now when this was discovered he wrote a letter that the "label was mislabeled".

  His manipulations with Rubashkin and Co. are now so obvious, that only an enemy of Lubavitch could go out and vote.

  There are many things we as Lubavitchers have to be proud of. We have all learned chassidus, and have Rebbes standing behind us. We have so much koach to do good.

  However, as is within every community, there are also times when lubavitch news is a big embarrassment. When this happens we must realize that not only are we making fools of ourselves and our community; we are also making a bushe of the Rebbe chas veshalom! This is completely unacceptable under any circumstances, and even more so when it is public.

  This site has done a world of good. Giving credit to those working for the community, reminding everyone to be safe, and just being informative are all great assets. They are newsworthy, things that should be publicized.

  Machlokes is never good, and should never be publicized. It is understood that lubavitch around the world would like to know what is going on at the headquarters, yet we must realize that certain issues belong behind closed doors. At least not publicized beyond lubavitch.

  Everything we do, everywhere we go, we are reflecting the Rebbe. Would the Rebbe be happy or proud to be projected this way?

  I examined Rabbi Osdoba’s letter. He stated that he had worked with the candidates and would be pleased to add them. He was asking for the people to ratify his judgement.
  I have observed two members of the vaad hakahol seceding and urging the community to go against the majority opinion. This is a recipe for anarchy. Additionally, my understanding is that a rov who is in the minority should support the judgement of the majority.
  Since our community is so terribly divided, let’s at least concede the good will of the other side, not withstanding our passionately held opinions.
  Those of us who are baalei t’shuva have experience in remaining civil and friendly in the face of fundamental differences. It is time for us to take this skill and practice it in our community.
  There are plenty of enemies of the Jewish people who are willing to remind us that we are all in this together. Let us remind ourselves so we don’t need a reminder from the sonei Yisroel , G-d forbid.

  i don,t think that this is going to happen but my suggestion would be to have 2 different elections.the 1st election will be weather you agree with rabbi osdoba or rabbi schwei & if rabbi opsdoba gets more elections than rabbi schwei than the 2nd election will take place.the 1st election people will vote either

  b)i agree with rabbi schwei that 3 rabonim are enough & we don,t need additional rabonim or

  By the way Rabbi Marlow only got 900 votes and that was when the Rebbe was alive and all had Achdus. THere is a certain group of the neighborhood who never vote like any election which is a little over 50%

  So on one day when there was much confusion and intimidation to get over 600 men is a true testament of the will of the poeple to get rid of Rabbi Scwei ( who is a nice techer in ocena parkway but not a rov )

  Three years 1,095 people came out to vote. Most did not come to vote for R’ Schwei they came to vote to strengthen the Beis Din. Had any Rov run he would have receievd that amount .

  Yesterdays vote despite all the pressure to stop the election and the various letter sent out during the day craeting mass confusion some 630 people voted. More then 50% of the election of three years back.

  Everyone will spin the election the way they want it to sound. Yesterday was not a landslide but it was pretty damn good under the very difficult circumstances.
  Lets be truthful there are some people who prefer the satus qua and had 1,000 people voted they would have found fault saying the elections were no good.

  No system is perfect no election is perfect. But what should the kehillah do? Wait till hopefully one day bothe R’ Odoba and R’ Schwei will sit down and work things out?

  If you are serious aboput peace ask Rabbi Schwei to recind his letter from 2 years ago where he stated that the Hasgocho of the Bdatz is the worst in the world and it is better to eat other hashgochos. If he takes that back i am sure that would be a tremendous move to get things moving in the rigfht direction.

  As far as Mochkin, I almost sure he has some mental problems, however he should not be used as an argument for either side.

  As far as elections, it is beyond doubd is a fraud.
  1. No democratic election approve candidate 2 days before
  2. No democratic election is extended for no cataclismic reason (A mentally disturbed person like Mochkin is not cataclismic reason – does anyone really scared of him)

  The whole election process was an exercise in dishonesty, geneivos daas hakohol and oommenchlichkiet. I’m not only talking about the Vaad Hakahal, I am referring to the Candidates who ran for the Rabbanus. The fraud perpetuated on the Kehillah by these persons was unprecedented. To privately state to numerous people that only their name is on the ballot but in fact they are not running but they refuse to take their name off the ballot in order not to upset Rabbi Osdoba and rock the boat is robbery in the first degree. This is the essence of the people that we are choosing to run the community. When will all this stop? Why should we think that once they are voted in they will stop their dishonest and misleading ways? Why should the Kahal have any confidence whatsoever in them? I’m told that some believe that once they are elected in and have their own powers they will cease to be puppets of the existing powers? Somebody please set me straight. Am I missing something?

  Being that apparently the poles will be open until Thursday night I have several things I’d like to be enlightened about.

  Does Moshe Rubashkin and supporters have access to the list of people that ACTUALY voted? If yes, is it available also to the apposing party? Because it seems that this type of list can be used and abused in several ways. 1 is by targeting all the ‘weaker’ people that hadn’t voted yet and “pressure/intimidate” or have them contacted by someone HE owes favors to – to “kindly” encourage him to vote. ($$$$$$$) – They can target their non-supporters in other ways as well.

  Anyway, if this list IS indeed available to the organizers of the elections (Rubashkin etc) it should be made PUBLIC RECORD and available to EVERYONE immediately – or at least to the leaders of the opposing party.

  Also – and more importantly – doesn’t this open up a very big opportunity for BLACKMAL – PRESSURE etc. Isn’t the whole voting process meant to be DISCREET and private – i.e. NONE of the party’s should have ANY access to these kinds of list? (aren’t elections supposed to be run FULLY by TOTALLY uninvolved parties – who DON’T give details to either party – only the final results – DEFINATLY any NAMES….?

  In (almost) EVERY Sicha and Tzetil from the Rebbe concerning this matter the Rebbe stresses again and again – that its DAAS HAKOHOL – the koach of the Bais Din is that they were elected by a majority of the community! Nothing to do with the Rebbe’s Haskomo etc. just – and only just – if the majority of the community chooses a Rov – he has the highest level of koach- strength – beis din kavua etc. but this has nothing to do with any specific individuals…….

  Were not both Rabbi Osdobo & Rabbi Shwey elected by the majority of eligible voters in Crown Heights? (Obviously it was different numbers because the number of eligible voters at rabbi Shwei’s elections were considerably higher (– in the end it makes no diference) – that makes them Morey D’asra of Crown Heights with equal credibility and Koach (as well as Rabbi Heller)!!! We are not allowed to denigrate either one!!!! Each one has equal say and input it what happened in this community.

  In my opinion, anyone that disagrees with this is simply (making believe he is) ignorant regarding the overwhelming majority of communications from the Rebbe concerning this issue.

  I was Walking on Kingston Ave. yesterday and saw a Father and Son leaving the voting station for the elections for Rabonim.

  I was very surprised to see that this father and son went to vote for the Rabonim especially being that the father has been very involved in meetings held to impeach the Rabonim and to dissolve the Holy Beis Din. This man has fought against the Rabonim for years, claiming all sorts of negative things against the Rabonim.

  Since Rabbi Schwei was elected there were approximately 630 weddings in Crown Heights B"H. Kain Yirbu.

  So if we are to be honest with ourselves and count the results with dignity, then we should not go by the numbers that elected Rabbi Schwei. There are an additional 630 yungerleit that are not being counted to state the percentage of residents that came out to vote.

  This is not including all those that moved to Crown Heights in the last 3 years.

  Rav Osdoba’s person replied that "we know we lost" and Rav Osdoba no longer has the mandate of the masses, "it’s too late now" – "Rav Osdoba HAD a good Peace Deal but Boimelgreen, FORCED him to make a fool out of himslef" and "anything" we can do, "no matter how unfair" must be done to "save Rav Osdoba". Othewise, he threatened he will go back to become the Rav of Denmark.

  I tried in vain to explain to him that with all this "election" fraud, you are really not saving the rav at all, rather you are showing how currupt he is to allow it, thearby burying him further.

  Now what? Where do we go from here? Do we just sit back and leave things as they are? I am afraid that would be a very dangerous move.

  Looking from the side line I will try to sum it up like this. Firstly I must address this letter to you as I feel much of the blame lies on your shoulders.

  Three years ago there was a referendum for you to run as Rov. Had the Vaad hakohol put up any Rov he too would have won that many votes.

  The election was about to help bolster the B’datz. You have your supporters but the bulk of the people voted for strengthening the Bdatz.

  What was the first thing you did? Try to destroy the B’datz. Insulting rabbi Osoba and finally writing a letter that the Bdatz hechsher is the worst in the world and it is better to eat any other hechsher then the Bdatz.

  This how you write about your fellow chaver on the same beis Din. It shows very clearly what your agenda is.

  This sort of behavior has been going on for three years already without let up. Is this the way you expect to make sholom? Are you serious about Sholom? It doesn’t sound like it.

  The Beis Din where rabbi Osdoba was elected to 20 years ago with the rebbe’s direct brochos is the work of the Rebbe. How can you stand there with a clear conscious as say you are doing this ltovas hakohol.

  Rabbi Schwei if you are serious in making peace revoke the above letter and sit down with rabbi Osdoba and work things out.
  Look at what is going on in the community. The tznius. The girls are laughing at you If you cannot get your act together why should they bother getting line with halacha.
  Unfortunately you have made mockery of the rebbe’s beis Din.

  If you want to gain respect show that you are ready to make sholom and do the right thing. Do not stand on ceremony. You can be a winner.

  but when the hechsher is labelled "hechsher of THE BADA"TZ" , and R’ shvei who is a member of the bada"tz is not allowed to get involved in the kashrus of it, and people buy the products thinking it is under the whole bada"tz, when in truth it is not (only under R’ ozdobo), it is deceiving,

  the solution to the problem of sholom in the community is to take the kashrus away from the individuals who are running it as a private business, (while deceiving the community that it is a community hechsher run by the entire beis din) and put it back in the hands of the vaad hakohol where it belongs, where it can be run under the supervision of all the members of the beis din.

  who was involved previously (namely – brook, katzman, herzog etc.) should not be allowed to get involved, and moshe rubashkin should restart the hechsher with new administrators and board, with the financial part of it taken care of exclusively by the vaad hakohol, and the job of the rabonim is to make sure that the kashrus is a high standard.

  the job of a rov giving a hechsher is to make sure that the kashrus is of high standard. not to be involved in making it a private business.

  right now, the vaad hakashrus is being run as a private business with only one of the members of the beis din giving a hechsher. it is deceiving to the community who are misled to believe that it is a community hechsher under the entire beis din.

  the solution (imhi, as i mentioned before) is to take away the kashrus from the hands of a few crooks who are running it in a corrupt communist way,

  to the extent that they will not use certain products which according to everyone are more mehudar, and will use the less mehudar product, – for only one reason – that the more mehudar product is under the o.k. supervision. (which politically yossi brook has a problem with)

  and the people who had been involved in the past and originally started the whole machlokes (brook, katzman, herzog etc.) should not be allowed to be involved.

  moshe rubashkin and the vaad hakohol should retake hold of the kashrus financially and to administrate it in a honest way involving the entire beis din (both rabonim), and the only job of the rabonim should be that the kashrus standard is one of quality (and not decide on a the kashrus of a product based on whether its under the o.k. or not (as is being done now)),

  and then we will have something to be proud of once again, and people will start eating and supporting the hechsher once again.

• Let us have a real Community Hechsher

  Anyone that has anything to do with Kashrus knows. That the whole Kashrus situation in the world is a business. If you cannot trust the owner of the establishment, you cannot trust the Kashrus certificate. OU, OK, chof k, star k, hisachdus, baddatz everywhere, private hechsheirim, etc. They all are in it for the money first, then they try to show that they are more religious then the other hechsheirim for marketing and publicity, and to garner more food establishments. No Hechsher in the world exists that does not use heteirim when a situation arises, we just do not hear about it.
  Unfortunately Yossi Brook whom 90% of our community does not like runs the CHK. His strength comes from Reb Aaron Rubashkin, who is in love with Yossi Brook. Since the money to support the Hechsher continues to flow from just this source this gives Yossi Brook all the power. In addition Shaya Boymilgreen who is Reb Aaron Rubashkin’s nephew also pays money to keep the Hechsher running.
  Let us hope that the new Rabonim will realize that a person whom 90% of the community does not like cannot control a community Hechsher. A community Hechsher should bestow a sense of pride, to ones community.

  I love the way the left leaning crowd loves to call Lubavitchers living in Crown Heights "Farmers".

  The people who grew up in Crown Heights had the Zechus of growing up with a Rebbe.

  Since the Frierdiker Rebbe came to these shores, all the Rebbe’s Chasidim and Mekushorim flocked to Crown Heights to be in the presence of their Rebbe.

  Yet, REAL Chasidim who didn’t have the Zechus of living in Crown Heights always yearned to come and be by the Rebbe.

  But being that many of the left leaning crowd were not able to handle the position of the majority of chasidim living here, they resort to name calling, as if residents of Crown Heights care what a few weird Bochurim from Detroit have to say for themselves.

  People in Crown Heights are highly regarded upright intelligent chasidishe business minded enterpenurial people.

  I am proud to be amongst them.

  It is very sad that some people in Lubavitch that have a low self esteem, need to resort to all kinds of name calling in order to give them the boost in their daily lives.

  TO VAAD HAKASHRUS

  When Schwei was "elected" to the beis din the first thing he tried to do was destroy the kashrus. He has never dealt in kashrus in his life. he was a rebbi in yeshiva. He insulted the Rov then because he didnt get his way (he answere questuions incorrectly) he went and had a tantrem and wrote his filthy letter which is thje basis of ALL the machlokos.

  Look how he made a fool of himself with the raskin Fish store. No Rov anywhere would give a hechsher 5 minutes after one was taken down before first finding out what the problem is. I guess Herzog told him it is ok so he signed the letter which Krause had ready for him.

  let Schwei take back his letter against Rabbi Osdoba and i am sure that that would help to settle the on going machlokos.

  I wrote a letter to ESC to info@electionservicescorp.com. I am sure they care about integrity of their services and maybe will invalidate election if they learn how fraudulent it is. Or if they already know, we can tell them that we will make sure it will publicized. Maybe you ppl can also send them email.

  Here is what I wrote:

  Dear ESC,

  I would like to ask you whether you are aware or not that the elections that you are conducting in Crown Heights section of Brooklyn for Rabbinical Court is a fraud beyond any doubt.

  I will provide you more reasoning if you are interested. I am just regular citizen of the neighborhood but what I observe is unimaginable.

  What I would like to ask you at this point is whether or not, for the sake of integrity of your company, you care to make sure that the elections that you are conducting are honest. I am very sure you do care because of reputation because, definitely, there are ways to publicize how fraudulent the election you are conducting is.

  I am not directing any blame to ESC because I am sure that ESC was misled that everything surrounding the election is honest. However, I am very sure that you would want to know whenever you are misled to perform fraudulent election.

  Let me know whether you want to obtain more information from me.

  R’ Osdoba is a nice guy, and the Rebbe Mh"M gave him the strength to be Abir she-be-Abirim, not to be affraid of anyone, only G-d that gave the Shulchon Oruch with the nosei kelim. It is our own fault that we destroyed Ahavas Yisroel through stupid machlokes.

  First of all, no one in this community has enough Ahavas Yisroel, love for the Rebbe and his milchomois to think for a moment: how are the Rabbonim doing begashmius? Do they have parnoso bekovod? The result is that their salaries are not paid on time, and not as they deserve, or as they want. And the result is that all kind of opportunists and crooks mix in and offer the Rov a salary. The Rov doesn’t see how he and his fam can survive, so he becomes a slave of Boimelgreen-Rubashkin-Fisher-Brook-Krinsky-Shemtov (some of them not yet, but we will see them "make sholom" soon).

  The situation with the kashrus is terrible: the recent letter admitting that the Tasty Tuna was "mislabeled" for Pesach (for a period of over three years!) is just one example.

  These crooks made R’ Osdoba a door mat to wipe their dirty feet.

  Only through Ahavas Yisroel and fair elections that will be run not by the crooks can we achieve Achdus.

  Remember, the Rebbe fought a war against the Fisher camp. It’s the same war now.

  The Rebbe said in the fiery speach about the elections to Vaad Hakohol:

  "This Shchuno will be built not on money, but on Achdus!"

  It’s true.

  Rabbi Schwei has Real Integrity and that is the most important thing for a Rav to have. Integrity matters much more than how many hours of Shimush he has.

  I used Rabbi Osdoba for Sidur Kidushin but now, with all this corruption, sanctioned by Rabbi Osdoba, I have lost all my respect for him.

  I understand Rabbi Osdoba is desperately trying to save his CHK but he is doing this at a price of loosing all his respect because he has no integrity at all, if he can go along with all of this corruption.
