At around 4 O’clock Friday afternoon a 12 year old girl was approached on Kingston Ave. and Empire Blvd. by a group of black girls, aging from 14 to 15 years old, they bullied her around and mugged her of 11 dollars. The police responded in time to file a report.

First off, I have to compliment your very good reporting, keeping abreast of the local events in a professional manner. I was a little disturbed however, when I read a piece the other day in which you referred to people as "animals". Don’t misunderstand me, as a resident of Crown Heights, I am also extremely angry and disturbed at the increase in crime directed against the Yidden. However, in reporting on that bias crime, are we not guilty of bias ourselves by labelling people "animals"? The perpetrators of the crimes are no doubt uneducated boors, with little or no sense of decency, but the context of your reporting seems to label not only the perpetrators, but an entire community, who include many upstanding decent individuals.
Please keep up your excellent reporting, without bringing it down to a level that is unneccessarily biased.

i happen to know that girl very very well and she wasnt 12 she was actually 10 years old [almost twelve]and she had been ”frisked”by these black girls who happenn to also be 15-16 and atleast triple her size!

Crown height’s crime is getting hight so fast. I was living in ch just last yr and it wasn’t as bad as this. Maybe because the communtiy counsel wasn’t focusing on spliting the communtiy liek they are now….
