Officer Lee (L) and Officer Ditto questioning the driver of the bike

Tuesday Evening our infamous Police car number 1474 pulled a real dangerous one. A guy on a motorcycle went down the wrong way on Kingston Ave coming from Eastern Pkwy. Then turned right onto Union St.. That is when the Police car saw him and went after him in hot pursuit down Union St. going the wrong way untill New York Ave. where they made a right towards Eastern Pkwy. where they finally stopped the motorcycle.

The motorcycle is a small one that we see black teenagers ride around; these bikes are illegal for street use. That, coupled with the way the teen was driving prompted this wild chase.

The chase was one of the greatest displays of recklessness on behalf of the NYPD, the dangers it put everyone in, at the intersection of New York and Union they nearly got into a triple accident, all of which would have been head on, pedestrians that would have not been looking that way when crossing, and being that Union St is so narrow it can only accommodate one car and that's not mentioning how fast they were driving. It's a miracle nothing happened.

And if all this wasn’t enough for you, after the apprehension of the teen these officers went on to display more incompetence when they turned to the small crowed that gathered around and began asking “what are we supposed to do with him?” and “we don’t even know, he’s 15, can we even arrest him?”

This car is known as the “APL” car, and its specific duty is to give tickets for traffic violation. Most of us will remember this car from Officers Kennedy and partner who have been assigned to a desk job only to be replaced by Officers Lee and Ditto, and according to reports from motorists, they are no better then the former.

That cop car almost hit me yesterday! I thought no one would believe me if I wrote that I literally had to dive out of the way for this car to save my life!

I saw the cops chasing the cyclist on Union street. The Cop-Car was about 2 inches away from the motorbike/cycle (whatever you want to call it). They sped through the block in about 35 seconds. It was scary!!

Just for the record the police car drove from Eastern parkway up Kingston to Union and then made a right turn. I was in Mendy’s at the time.

Listen–in the heat of the moment, they lost their heads and were looking for action, but in their defense, let me say that when a punk displays such an utter and brazen disregard for law and order, he has to be put down hard and fast to send the message that "no, you can’t do whatever you want and get away with it." I’m willing to give the cops the benefit of the doubt.
Bottom line, they removed some punk and taught him (and his friends, whom he’ll surely tell his tale of woe to) that you can’t do that–at least not in Crown Heights.
Also, remember that if they had NOT pursued him, he would have gotten away–leaving us to complain, "why didn’t they get him?"

  • i saw it all

just by the way the cop tried to stop the kid on kingston near empire where the kid continued going up kingston made a left onto eastern then made a U-Turn then went down kingston to Union and made a left. it was the kid that almost killed 2 people and it was the kid that smashed into a car not the cops so don’t put the cops down unless you know the full story and besides the reason the cops asked the bystanders as to what they should do was to get a fair statement from someone who is older then the kid and the same race. and as it so happens they didn’t even arrest the kid they spoke to him then released him to his uncle together with the bike which he right documentation for it. the kid was very lucky cause he could have gotten himself arrested for to felony charges which would have ruined his life but no they gave him a warning. and everyone thinks the cops are bad and hate everyone

  • chanina rules. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!

The cops who drive police car 1474 during the day is driven by the 2 black females cops work the 10:00am-6:00pm & in the evening the 2 white male cops work 6:00pm-2:00am. The car is equped with a dash cam so when they go to court, they show the judge the video and they get you stuck with a hufty ticket.

    Sam the enformer:

how do you know so much about cops and what they have in their vehicles? p.s. check your spelling…..

  • Itzik_s

Enough talk. Is there need for a sit in at the police station (a PEACEFUL sit-in, as in hundreds of Anash coming to protest at the station or right outside it) or is this just empty talk? If the former, let’s organize it. If something in between – who can we really deal with in 1 Police Plaza? If this is just lunchtime griping, have fun.

  • Sam the enformer

Some nypd cars have dash cam so when the turn on the roof lights and pull you over it’s all on tape. So if you see the cop come to you the the driver side with a wire on them it is a microphone so everything you say will be recuord on the tape when they appeir in court so it makes it harder to fight a ticket.

  • what is wrong

You have to understand something. These officers are enforcing traffic and traffic only it seems like from what people are saying. If you would just NOT us your cell phone and WEAR your seat belt and follow all other traffic rules they will have NO reason to pull you over. Just remember that the more bad things you guys say and wright about these to officers. The more they and the more other officers will come after us…………They are just doing there job!!!

  • what is wrong

And as for the chase. People should not run from the police. That bike could have been stolen or that kid could have been robing one of us if the cops did not get him again they are just doing there job. If you hear the sirens and see lights it means get out of the way. Ill tell you one thing there is no way that we can get away with things like this back home. So injoy it while were hear!!

Here is a simple suggestion for everybody. Follow the law and you won’t have a problem. It’s that easy.

  • hopefloats

    to tomim –
wishing death upon a police officer who is there to HELP the public is sickening. it is people like you who give a bad name to your community – driving to a hospital or not, if you are on your cell phone you are breaking the law and you are not above the law.

these men & women put their life on the line DAILY, do YOU?

i hope you never truly need the help of a police officer and if you do, i’m sure you wouldn’t wish death on him/her!!!!

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man or woman who rises and sleeps under the very blanket of the freedom that I provide and then questions the manner in which i provide it in
