The Trip that Turned into a Tefillin Campaign

A group of Bochurim from Yeshivas Menachem Mendel in Monsey, who won a trip to Washington D.C. as a prize for their achievements in a learning project for Yud Shvat started asking passerby’s at popular turist attractions like the Whitehouse and the Senate whether they were Jewish. Eventually they ended up putting on Tefillin with a large number of Jews – creating a huge Kiddush Hashem, and they even got a few pictures with Sen. John Kerry. The Bochurim partook in Minyonim at the Chabad House of Washington D.C. headed by Rabbi Levi Shemtov.

    Especially dureing the boys’ fun they were there to do mitzvos it can only be a kiddush Hashem

    This little news tid-bit is actually about a group of young men who got a chance to see our nation’s Capital in action and meet a few people including a US Senator.
    Not the slightest thing can happen it seems without it coming to politics; and so I apologize in advance for adding to that.
    I’m curious who do you think is good for the Jews?
    I hope you don’t think it’s George Bush who implemented the so called "Road Map" and little by little is letting US support of Israel go in favor of new "friends" in the Middle East like the Saudisand Kuwaitis. Who "worked out a deal" with Iran. Who just signed a deal to give Billions in US aid to the new Hamas led Palestinian Gov. Who implored the EU to give even more to Hamas.
    George Bush who kow tows to the whims of the ever growing Christian Right; does everything in his power to accel their agenda to make this legally a Christian(only) country.
    We won’t get a chance to Know what John Kerry might have done for the Jews of this country, Israel and the world from the White House.
    When will people like you wake up and realize that Republicans are not anyone’s friends but other republicans. You people act like if you keep voting republican Lincoln will come back to the White House.
    By the time you realize you were wrong it very well may be too late..sound familiar?
