Hachnosas Safer Torah from Gush Katif to Chevron

The annual gathering in honor of the 24th of Shvat, the Yortzeit of Rebbetzin Menucha Rochel, was attended by about 1000 people, who arrived by buses from all parts of Israel.

The visitors first went to the Tziyon of the Rebbetzin and then joined together in an impressive procession through the streets of Chevron, led by the Safer Torah that originated in Gush Katif, towards the Shul of the Mittler Rebbe in the ‘Avrohom Avinu’ neighborhood. On the way, the crowd stopped at the Schneerson Home where they were told about the history of the building.

The Safer Torah was dedicated to the memory of Nataniel Uzeri and Hillel Liberman HAYA”D, who were killed by terrorists. Shimon Uzeri, father of Nataniel, was honored in carrying the Sefer Torah, which was entered to the recently reconstructed Shul of the Mittler Rebbe.
