Dear Community Members

I am writing to you today as a mother of a special needs child. The difficulties involved in raising a child with such special needs are many: Constant attention, supervision and medical care are required 24/7, with some days being more challenging then others.

A few years ago a new light began to shine in my daughters' life. Thank G-d, a group of caring individuals came together to form an organization that helps families like mine. Since volunteers from The Friendship Circle have begun visiting my daughter, she is a different person. My daughter now has what she always dreamed of. A friend. They bring such joy to her day, it melts my heart.

A Letter to the Community

Dear Community Members

I am writing to you today as a mother of a special needs child. The difficulties involved in raising a child with such special needs are many: Constant attention, supervision and medical care are required 24/7, with some days being more challenging then others.

A few years ago a new light began to shine in my daughters’ life. Thank G-d, a group of caring individuals came together to form an organization that helps families like mine. Since volunteers from The Friendship Circle have begun visiting my daughter, she is a different person. My daughter now has what she always dreamed of. A friend. They bring such joy to her day, it melts my heart.

It is not just my daughter who feels indebted to the Friendship Circle, their unique programs for parents, such as Mom’s night out afford us much needed encouragement and support from parents dealing with similar situations.

On Sunday, October 19, the Fourth day of Chol Hamoed, I, along with my daughter and countless others, will be joining the Friendship Circle Walkathon. I urge you to donate whatever amount you can to this extremely worthy cause. No matter the amount, your donation will go a long way in changing lives, just like my daughters. To donate, please click on the link, or call the number provided below.

In addition, please take the time to join us on the walk. Let us come together as a unified community. It is a wonderful opportunity to stand up and be counted, for you to show that you care. Let us come together as one and show that we are indeed a community that cares for one another.

Every summer, we would take our daughter to camp Emunah on visiting day, where she would express her dream of one day being a camper. This year, thanks to the Friendship Circle, my daughter’s dream became a reality. When I visited her on visiting day, her first words were, “See, I am a camper in Camp Emunah!”

You can bring a smile to the face of a special child. Don’t pass up on the opportunity.

In the merit of the kindness of our wonderful community, may we all be granted a K’sivah V’chasimah Tovah, L’Shono Tova U’mesuka for everything good for you and your family.

YASHER KOACH to Camp Emunah. the last Motzei Shabbos of the summer, Camp Emunah made a production. one of the scenes was a choir with the Friendship Circle. the production was fabulous and the Friendship Circle Choir added an extra spice and sparkle to the evening. at the end of the summer no one was sure who gained more, the Friendship Circle or Camp Emunah. my guess is it was a tie – a mutual benefit for all – and a giant step to bring Moshiach Now!
