The now official “Worlds Largest Menorah” was recognized this year by the Guinness World Records as the official Worlds Largest Menorah standing at 32 feet tall and 26 feet wide. The Menorah which is lit every night of Chanukah at Grand Army Plaza on 59th and 5th in Manhattan since the late 1970’s, had the people from the book of records come to the Menorah and measure it and present the certificate to the son of the Menorah’s designer Yaakov Agam and to the Lubavitch Youth Organization.
This Menorah sat in model size on the Rebbes desk before being approved of by the Rebbe and only then was it built to its present dimensions.

Bad idea:
Now somone will make an even bigger one (that will not be kosher) just to get into the book. I am sure that they will not worry about it being kosher.

‘anon’
I believe there is a bigger one in Israel. It was however not able to recieve this title being that it is not kosher.

Even if what sr41 says isn’t true, there’s a concept of ‘ze l’umas ze’ – everything good has its counterpart in bad. but we don’t stop good things because of that. look at the good side; don’t be so negative.

I lived in Crown Heights in the 50’s and 60’s. I went on Friday morning to Central Park to see the Menorah but it wasn’t yet built. Friday afternoon was a big snowstorm. I was sad as I go to see it every holiday. Miraculously, I returned in Sundays’ stormy weather and it was there at Grand Army Plaza. When was it erected? It was like a Miracle because it was not put up on Shabbos. It’s like an old friend is back. Thanks for posting the photos as there’s few of them on the Internet. I’d like to see even more views of the Menorah on-line. Thanks.
