Joining his father for the first time on a CD, is young Menachem Mendel Rivkin. Together, father and son entertain and inspire, with stirring as well as joyful songs of the Kabbalistic / Chassidic tradition, that convey the ongoing pain and tribulations of exile, together with a strong message of faith and hope for the coming of Moshiach and the immediate redemption. The very talented musician Zalman Goldstein is, as on Rivkin’s previous 2 CD’s, once again doing the music arrangements.

In addition to the song presented here (not yet mixed and mastered), Infinity Productions has informed us that it is collaborating with the famous, award winning film producer Jerry Levine, of Higher Authority Productions, in Bay Harbor Islands, FL, to produce a state-of-the-art, full length Music Video, delineating one of the songs featured on the new CD, “It Happened Yom Kippur”. The Music Video is scheduled to be released before the end of the summer, a month or so, before the release of the new audio CD. Audio Clips and a description of previously released CD’s, can be accessed by visiting the internet at: www.InfinityRecordings.net.

  • Berel Klinghoffer

awesome! i especially like the video idea. i think avram fried also should do a video with the song al tira avdi yakov, Hashem Elokin holech itcha, al tira, al tira, avdi yakov… from his latest cd, with images of israeli soldiers mixed with images of the rebbe etc. perhaps yanki teitelbaum and JEM can help with this important project.
PS Why POsseses. I always thought it was proncounced “Puh”sess. but then again, i’m no english major.

    MAYER great…MENDEL great…MUSICgreat

However, what is that noise once or twice in the background. Is it because it wasn’t mastered?

  • I-m serious!

JUST GIVE ME THE GREEN LIGHT AND I START WORKING ON A CONCERT TONIGHT! WILL HAVE THEM WEEPING AND DANCING IN THE AISLES. GET REAL MAYER, WE CAN FILL THE HOUSE!

  • WHO CARES

“puh” or “po” who cares…the song and the lyrics are sooooo good.

  • TEASE

I wouldn’t use this photo as your CD cover but….listening to the clip and gazing at the water in background was therapeutic. I have mixed feelings about the sample track. On one hand I totaly enjoyed listening to it but, on the other hand, it’s like a tease, leaving you wanting and yearning for more. Thanks anyway.

  • Videomanic

If the graphics of the Uforatzto Journal (I still remember), that short film you did with J. Levine on 1414 Pres. St. and your last 2 CD covers are any
indication…..I can’t wait to see what you’re gonna do with this music video. How long is gonna be?

  • cant get enough

my kids are not happy with me. i dont let them get to the computer. i keep clicking the mouse again & again to repeat the song over and over. need for the cd to come out so I can stick it in my car cd player and repeat as many times as i want. good luck & finish it quickly. your son has a very sweet voice.

  • great music

wow mayer! ur song was great! and ur son is so cute the way he sings! he can take after u one day. keep it up!

  • A Friend

Looks like he was bitten by the Bal Harbour “modern” bug. That’s not how Chassidisher baalei menagnim dressed in Lubavitch….

Meir, be a proud chossid! Dress like one and don’t try to copy the goyishe artists and their CD covers.

  • me

gorgous….like hebrew or yiddish more and niggunim better but this is delicious, this kid has what it takes!!!

  • a friend of a friend

i’m proud to share that i too have been (am) a friend of mayer for the longest time. i gotta tell you, if I were to need an example of how a chassidisher yungerman should dress and carry himself, I would point to meir. as long as i know him, he is always there with a smile, a kind word and a willingness to help out. his “etzem” shows through, in his niggina.

it’s obvious to me that this picture with his son was taken on a leasure summer day at a private moment. if the only fault you find in him, is the color of his shirt, then i suggest you spend a bit more time learning chassidus in general and the rebbes sichos in particular. i think all of us should do this (viani hakoton bsoichom) and start to emulate more the rebbes stress on hakoras hatoiv and ahavas yiroel. lets all of us together bring the concept of chassidim ain mishpocho into the open.

  • to: A Friend

Is that really whats bothering you?….the green shirt!?

    “WAKE UP YIDDIN” indeed!!!!!!!

  • Perspective

To those who replied to “a friend,” while I see your point, and I don’t think “a friend” meant any harm, just it is sad, but a true chossid looks like one on the inside AND out. There is no such think as a “liesure dispensation” for chassidishkeit.

For all the emesser old-timers, you know what I mean.

Here is the acid question: Would Meyer be proud to send in that picture to the rebbe?

I agree chassidishkeit is not JUST the outside, but it IS a big part of it, anyone complaning otherwise (…“get over the green shirt”) I guarentee you is not coming from a vantage point of ADDING yiras shomayim.

  • Try it...You-ll like it

Point well taken. Nevertheless, how refreshing it would be for “A friend” to have added in his commentent a poitive thing or two, as to perhaps how the Niggun can have a positive effect on listeners, etc etc…..or omething to that effect. Compliments are inexpensive and should require little effort to dish out. “A friend” should try it sometime. H’ll be surprised to realize how good it may make him feel.ne feels really

  • TO PERSPECTIVE

i have been a staff member in gan yisroel for man years and was involved in sending reports to the rebbe. we never thought twice about sending the rebbe photos of counselors and staff member dressed in white pants, colorful tee shirts of every description. as far as remember there was never a negatuve respone from the rebbe. it was what we wore during camp and it was fine! “a green shirt” is fine!
