Yesterday [Tuesday] a Bochur on his way home at around 9:00pm, was walking down Montgomery St. coming from Kingston Ave. where 2 black men, around the ages of 20-21, came up to him and one of them grabbed his arm and the other pulled out a silver gun and pointed it at his chest. In a conversation I had with the victim of this attempted mugging, he told me that he recognized the gun as definitely being a “9mm pistol”. He also told me that the thug that was holding the gun at his chest had pulled the trigger and he heard the definite snap of the gun which is why he started pushing and screaming, which may have saved his life.

I think it’s worth having $20 in your coat pocket at all times.. and if mugged just say.. this is all i got.. and give up the $20.. so at least they don’t leave empty handed.. and you don’t have to start thinking about "what was in my wallet?" "Who do I have to call?"
As for the bochur.. you can’t call him crazy for doing what he did.. under extreme situations people act in weird ways..
But i could say that he is lucky!!

The red devil was a major contributor to the crown heights patrol ,but what makes you think that if he was an active unit there wouldnt be any crime? and even in his hay day you know what there was even more crime ? and even when you patrol can u patrol every street every hour of every day ? not even the police have that capability ! the thing you can do is run patrols on patterns like at nights a couple of times but to cover every inch of every street is impossible even if u have 5 red devils ! and the only thing you can do is call the cops and shomrim and hopefuly they can come on time to apprehend the culprit ! but u cant be in every place every time !

Ok let me be clear in what I meant to just give up the money (to all those of you who are not very rational).
If a black man approaches you with a gun and demands money, and you make a “stand” and make a martyr out of yourself, then the guy shoots you and takes your money and you either go to the hospital with a gunshot wound or die over the money.
So you tell me, should you just give up the cash or “make a stand”? (Think. Use your head.)
The solution to this would be more police patrols and more patrols in general, more strict consequences for such “petty crimes” id say 20 year behind bars no chance of parole.
Now I don’t mean to just be a pushover and give up your money, I mean in a situation you should be smart about it. If it’s a little kid with no weapon you grab him and beat the daylights out of him and call 911 and say you see a kid lying on the curb, (or not even that) and to hell with him. But “you don’t bring a stick to a gun fight”.
