Van Bursts into Flames on Eastern Parkway

Crown Heights, Brooklyn — At around 3:30 this afternoon the driver of a van traveling on Eastern Parkway noticed smoke coming from under his hood and quickly the van erupted into raging flames.

FDNY firefighters arrived on scene within minutes of the incident and shortly thereafter had the blaze subdued. The driver of the van said that this incident could be due to the very hot temperatures we have been seeing lately here in Brooklyn.

Drivers should take note of their engine temp. gauge and always perform regular services and maintenance to their vehicles in order to avoid breakdowns and worse Cā€V, incidents such as these.

    its a mitzvah to do maintenence of any sort that will help for safety. We need to try to slow down and work on our safety

    Imagine if the driver had a van full of passengers/children. How could he/she have gotten everyone out in time???
