Second Car Fire in a Week

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — For the second time in less than a week, a car burst into flames on Troy Avenue this morning, the fire quickly destroying the car and damaging a parked SUV.

The incident occurred at around 11:00am in front of Bunch-o-Bagels. The car, a black Lincoln suddenly began smoking, and was quickly engulfed in flames. Firefighters doused the fire within minutes, but the car was completely damaged.

A parked car was also damaged by the heat of the fire. There were no injuries in the incident.

The car was quickly cleaned up and taken away on a tow truck, unlike the skeletal remains of another car fire on Empire and Kingston. That car went up in flames on Motzai Pesach, but was left in its place.
