EAST FLATBUSH [CHI] — A Sunday morning two alarm fire destroyed Oholei Torah’s East Flatbush head start division building.

The fire broke out at around 10:00am this morning, and quickly escalated to two alarms, bringing in a large number of fire companies to combat the flames, which at times were shooting out the front of the building.

After about an hour firefighters managed to put out the blaze.

Cause of the fire remains unknown and fire marshals are on scene investigating. The building was unoccupied at the time and there were no reported injuries.

“Thank g-d it was a Sunday and there were no children in the building” said Rabbi Sholom Rosenfeld, Director of the school, adding “that classes will continue Monday in the Zal of Oholei Torah on Eastern Parkway at least until Pesach.”
