Stubborn Fire Burns for Over an Hour in Jewish Home
CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Firefighters battled a stubborn blaze early this morning which quickly spread into the walls of the house, forcing firefighters to rip them open in order to properly douse it.
The house was a wood frame building occupied by Jewish tenants, started to burn at 6:50am, forcing the residents out in their sleepwear, and took firefighters over an hour to put out the fire.
New York Avenue and Sterling Street was shut down for the duration of the fire.
Another element the firefighters had to battle was the freezing cold temperature, which caused water to freeze the instant it hit the ground.
Sterling Street neighbors took the displaced residents in and provided shelter from the cold.

Please post as to where we can send funds to help this family.
A wood frame house with a fire like this is usually a total loss.
I hope they were insured well.

I feel for the family but was so many firefighters necessary. It could be they are giving so many parking tickets just to pay for all those fire fighters. I do not think it takes 10 firefighters to hold one hose. I may be wrong in all this as I am not a fire fighter but the pictures are very odd.
Anyways I still give all those hero firefighters two thumbs up and keep up the great work. I pray for the family and may they only receive blessings for Hashem’s kindness in the future.
Good Shabbos!
Nuch a sreifa vert men reich
Simcha, actually it DOES take many firefighters to hold a hose. The pressure of the water is so strong that having only one or two of them hold a hose is ‘stuff of the movies’.
B“H noone was hurt in this fire and hopefully everything will go well and easily for this family in terms of the material recover and loss. The Rebbe said ”nuch a sreifa vert men reich”, so hopefully they will find those riches very soon.
