Early Morning Fire Destroys Apartments

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A fast moving fire broke out this morning in an apartment building. The incident began at 9:00am on the fourth floor of 570 Lefferts Avenue near the corner of Kingston Avenue.

Many firefighters responded and had the fire under control within 25 minutes. Residents of the, predominantly non-Jewish, building were seen on the fire escapes calling for help after their apartment filled with smoke.

I guess that new dispatch system struck again. Firemen first came to Bais Rivka thinking that the fire was at 470 Lefferts. Instead it was at 570.

The mayor bloomberg needs to bring back our fire dispatchers to Empire Blvd. Having the police dispatch the firemen is dangerous!
