As we have reported yesterday about the fire on Kingston and Lefferts, well it recurred, at 12:50am FDNY arrived at the building and immediately upgraded that fire to a 2nd alarm due to the windy conditions and the fact that it had just burned about 7 hours earlier making it more susceptible to burning, which is what it did, in a matter of a few short minutes the fire spread across the roof of 3 of the apartments, displacing 2 families and further damaging the vacant apartment.

Many Trucks and Ladders responded to the fire from all across Brooklyn, including various volunteer aid groups.

The fire was subdued im a matter of 20 minutes, but wasn’t completely put out for nearly 2 hours, only then were fire fighters sure the fire was out. Due to the nature of this fire being a reoccurring one makes it a suspicious circumstances so the fire marshals were called in to investigate what had caused this blaze.

A total of 4 fire men were injured with various inhalation and trauma injuries, 2 of which were from the same fire company.

    acording to (fire deputy cheif) Div. 15, that was on the scene: the fire was up’t to a 3 alarm fire at about 1:00 am and 6 apt. were damaged three of which had only water damage. there were 300 firefighters on the scene

    WOW webby, you did it once again, a great story with great pictures. It was nice of the firefighters to let you on the roof to get us informed what went on over there. great coverage.

    For those who don’t know, the SALVATION army is a Christain organization and the name is about saving souls to Yoshke.

    last night i was half asleep and i heard on wcbs radio on the traffic report about a fire on kingston corner empire, i wasn’t sure what they were talking about and why it was on the traffic report, i thought i was maybe dreaming. i guess not!
    BTW where are those chasseidisher buchrem from?

    Its levels of the fires severity, the more severe and prone to causing more damage it is the higher it will go, or if the wind is blowing strong that would cause a fire to become more dangerous thereby causing FDNY to raise the alarm code. It goes from 1 to 5, 5 being the worst.

    Salvation Army does not discriminate, they show up no matter who needs assistance.

    Also on the the question about the alarm 1st 2nd 3rd – it does upgrade the servity of the fire but it states how many crews are called to the scene.
