Fire Destroys Lubavitcher Home on Carlton Avenue

MONTREAL, Canada [CHI] — Earlier today, Friday at around 12:00pm, a fire broke out in the top floor of a duplex condo housing a Lubavitcher family on Carlton Avenue in Montreal.

Eyewitnesses say that they first saw smoke coming out of the front windows of the home, located at 4682 Carlton Avenue, followed by a burst of flames coming out of the roof and windows. 911 was called and fire fighters quickly responded and began working on putting out the flames. The cause of the fire remains a mystery, but is believed to have been caused by an electrical short.

Once the fire was out the homeowners were able to go in and survey the damage done to the entire structure by both the fire, and the water which followed. One resident from the first floor, Mr. Eli Meroz who’s house sustained significant water damage, said “My Matzos are still dry, BH.”

In a great show of Achdus and concern for one another, Neighbors opened their homes to the families displaced by the fire, taking them in and making sure they all have a place to stay for Shabbos.

    If you read the article carefully you should have noted the most important and impressive aspect of the article, The Miracle Matzahs.
    I wish confirm that the aforementioned matzah were in fact in the room directly beneath the flaming apartment. As the fire department came rushing in to the burning inferno they doused the flames. The resulting deluge of water created a gigantic water fall that came crashing down to the room bellow. As the room filled with water the Passover matzah’s refused to become wet. Miraculously the water split to the right and to the left leaving a clear and dry path for the matzzah’s in the centre. This is true Pessach miracle that has manifest in these Miracle Shmura Matzah.
    As this is a true community miracle it would be selfish of me to personally withhold these miracle Mattzohs As I am certain that there must be thousand of you out there that wish to partake in this miracle, I wish to offer these Matzhos for sale at the bargain price of $100 per matzah. All proceeds will go to benefit the Lubavitch Yeshiva in Montreal. All payment can be processed through Rabbi Lipsh current chief fundraiser for the yeshiva.     former montrealer you rest my case exactly a) your response is third world like – an elemantal charecteristic of montreal b) you are former why? beacuse its a hole just admit it. Under the guise of chassidshkeit they endorse and honor crudenss, lack of basic manners and hygiense, sinas chinom, lake of any semblance of hachnosas orchim, and general patheticness.

    That beong said i made no comment on the good people who have lost their home,our prayers are with them… rather a comment on montreal generally. A comment which is widely held.
