LONDON, England [CHI] – The Lubavitch Mikvah in London, under the directorship of Rabbi Levi Sudak, went up in flames this afternoon, after a fire broke out due to an electrical short. The fire is reported to have done extensive damage to the facility along with the Chabad Houses storage shed.

Well, If I had a lot of money, I would for sure give the rabbis of london money to build a new chabad mikvah.

I still can’t figure out how a mikvah with all that water can burn. Once the fire hits the bor then it must fizzle out, right? So now there’ll be another Mikvah campaign to build bigger & better. OK, go to it!There are enough people round there to “dip” in their pockets.

Wouldn’t the actual mikvah (that is, the pit with the water) be OK? I cant see how water would burn?

The Chabad House is on Hale Lane in Edgware where there is a lot of construction where the local water authority is actually digging something very much like a ‘bor’ to collect rain water. They are digging outside the blockbuster shteible and outside the station. Maybe for abit ‘azoi’ they can make a new bor or mikva for the chabad house?
