Boiler Trouble Scares Residents

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — At around 12:00am last night a column of smoke was seen rising from the roof of 679 Montgomery Street, the large building on the corner of Kingston Avenue. People called 911 thinking that there was a fire in the building, which B”H turned out not to be the case.

When firefighters arrived and scene they quickly traced the reason for the smoke to the buildings boiler which had a slight malfunction causing it to smoke. The firefighters did not have to operate at all and the problem resolved itself.

The building has 6 floors and houses 37 residential apartments along with 5 storefronts.
