Suspect Arrested in Shooting Death of Crown Heights Nurse
NYPD detectives arrested a 27-year-old suspect early Sunday in the stray bullet slaying of a Crown Heights nurse, cops said.
Darius Dubarry was arrested in his room at the Day’s Inn in Augusta, Ga., around 5 a.m. in connection with the death of Carol Simon, 35, cops said.
“Today is one of the happiest days of my life and I want to give god thanks,” her husband, Clarence McEwen, said. “Now that they caught this guy, I hope he is prosecuted fully by the law.”
Simon was shot last Saturday near her Eastern Parkway home as her son Kieron, 9, waited nearby in the family’s SUV for her to drive him to swimming lessons.
Cops and local authorities pleaded with the community to help find her killer and late last week investigators identified Dubarry as a suspect.
Dubarry is being held by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, who have not returned a telephone call seeking comment. He could waive extradition and be returned to the city or ask for a hearing.
Members of the NYPD’s 71st precinct, Brooklyn South Homicide and local cops in Augusta made the arrest.
Well treated in CH
It’s so amazing how fast they found her killer! Yet Klein’s killer is still on the loose!!!

We need tougher laws. Criminals are NOT afraid of the government.
I went to the Thurs. nite meeting. It seemed like Inspector Frank Vega was covering up facts, losing reports and releasing criminals for his own advantage.
Perhaps all these ‘incidents’ reported in the Jewish Leadership Council literature were errors and the commander is covering this up?
A natural response, no?
He might have been too embarrassed at the meeting to discuss it?
If one says that the commander was doing it for his advantage, wouldn’t that be totally stupid? Were he found out it could be the end of his career, no?

That’s not the reaction I would expect from a guy who just lost his wife
