Crown Heights Jewish Community Council (CHJCC) December Life Insurance Awareness Month Launches in Crown Heights
The Crown Heights Jewish Community Council (CHJCC), together with Rabbi Lazer Avtzon, is launching December Life Insurance Awareness Month, a community-wide effort to promote education and responsible planning around life insurance.
Throughout December, CHJCC will engage local Shuls, schools, community groups, and licensed Crown Heights insurance brokers to increase awareness, clarify misconceptions, and ensure families have access to reliable, unbiased information. The goal is to make life-insurance guidance accessible, simple, and relevant for every stage of life.
“Life insurance is one of the most important—and most overlooked—protections a family can have,” said Shmuly Rosenstein, Acting Chairman of CHJCC. “This initiative is about empowering families with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed decisions.”
The initiative will provide:
• Clear explanations of Term Life, Whole Life, and other policy options
• Guidance on using life insurance as a financial tool and long-term asset
• Support for midlife individuals who may need to re-certify or update existing policies
• Opportunities to connect with local licensed brokers for no-pressure guidance
• Tailored programming for shuls, schools, and community groups based on their schedules and needs
