Second Annual Achdus Hakafos to Take Place This Simchas Torah in Crown Heights

Building on the tremendous success of last year’s Achdus Hakafos in Crown Heights—and the overwhelming gratitude and positive feedback from so many—we are pleased to announce that the Second Annual Simchas Torah Achdus Hakafos will take place Wednesday, 1:00–1:45 PM, at the corner of Albany Avenue and Crown Street.

Despite forecasts of rain and gusty winds for the second days of Yom Tov, Wednesday is expected to be rain-free.

May it be Hashem’s will that by the time of the Hakafos, all the hostages will have safely returned home.

This Achdus Hakafos is a joint project of Rabbi Shlomo Wolvovsky and Binyomin Levin of Beis Shneur / ULY, together with Rabbi Lazer Avtzon of Merkaz Sefarad and the Association of Crown Heights Shuls, and with the assistance of Rabbi Yaacov Behrman.

In accordance with the directive of the Beis Din of Crown Heights, the Sifrei Torah should not be taken out onto the street. Each shul should first conduct Ata Horeisa and Hakafos inside their respective locations before joining the community celebration.

Location guidelines:
Women: Albany Avenue between Carroll and Crown Streets
Men: Albany Avenue between Crown and Montgomery Streets
Dancing: In the main intersection of Crown and Albany for men and boys

Together, we will create a tremendous Kiddush Hashem and Kiddush Shem Lubavitch, bringing the Rebbe much nachas.

We ask all participating shuls to relay the following guidelines to ensure proper decorum and tznius:

Women should remain on Albany between Carrol and Crown Streets

Men should be on Albany Ave from Crown to Montgomery Streets

Actual dancing will be at the intersection of Crown and Albany (for men and boys only)

The program will begin with the recital of the 12 Pesukim, followed by joyous dancing to the songs:

– הושיעה את עמיך

– עוצו עצה ותופר

– פרזות תשב ירושלים

– אני מאמין

– ניגון של ר’ לוי”ק

שנזכה כבר לפני שמיני עצרת ושמחת תורה להתגלות משיח צדקנו ומלכנו בראשינו
א גוט יום טוב!

A special thank you to the New York Police Department for their assistance and support.
