
ODA Warns Community About Measles Case, Reminds People To Vaccinate

The ODA in Crown Heights has sent a message to its patients warning them out a case of Measles identified in the community, and reminds everyone to make sure they are vaccinated.
“Esteemed Patient, A young man in the “kevutza” dormitory was diagnosed and confirmed with measles today,” the message reads. “The risk of a large-scale outbreak is real.”
The alert comes following a series of outbreaks in the US and elsewhere, some of which have included fatalities.
“Please ensure all children and young adults are vaccinated with MMR<” the ODA wrote. “Watch for symptoms: fever, rash, cough, conjunctivitis, and diarrhea. If visiting a medical facility with these signs, call ahead so the case can be properly managed and exposure minimized.”
