Happening Tomorrow: A Morning That’s More Than Just a Breakfast

At this year’s annual Bikur Cholim Women’s Breakfast, guests will be treated to a stunning visual tribute to the Rebbetzin through an original art exhibit featuring fifteen portraits created by various artists worldwide. Each piece in the collection captures something unique about the Rebbetzin’s dignity, grace, and strength and serves as a heartfelt tribute to her enduring legacy. Bidding for these extraordinary pieces will take place exclusively at the breakfast.

The timing is especially meaningful and appropriate as this year marks 36 years since the Rebbe gave his haskama for Bikur Cholim of Crown Heights to carry the Rebbetzin’s name. Her legacy of compassion continues through the work of Bikur Cholim, which serves as a lifeline for families in our community facing medical challenges. Whether it’s meals delivered with love, rides to treatments, hospital visits, or help with medical expenses, Bikur Cholim steps in quietly and wholeheartedly, serving as the Heart of Caring in our community, embodying the message of “והחי יתן אל לבו”, that the living should take to heart the values and kindness of those who came before us.

With a network of over 250 volunteers who receive service requests daily, Bikur Cholim supports over 300 families annually in 15 vital areas, including a fully furnished two-bedroom hospitality suite for families traveling to New York for life-saving treatment. With an all volunteer board and close to zero overhead, all funds raised go directly toward helping members of our community, from newborns to seniors.

The breakfast program will feature a keynote address from Mrs. Louise Hager MBE, who had a personal relationship with the Rebbetzin, as well as a deeply moving video tribute to Elkie Lefkowitz a” h, a woman whose life and kindness were deeply intertwined with the mission of Bikur Cholim. The Community Chesed Award will be presented to Rochelle Berzack (Fellig) and the Hadassah Lebovic Partner in Healing Award to Devorah Herson, Menucha Herson, and Chaya Sherman, whose discreet acts of kindness bring enormous strength and comfort to others.

Guests will also enjoy a beautifully curated, high-end breakfast catered by VIP Kosher Events, featuring an elegant menu designed to elevate the morning’s celebration.
