BDE: Mr. Reuven Lipkind, OBM
With great sadness we report the passing of Mr. Reuven Lipkind OBM, a well-known civil servant and Crown Heights resident. He passed away on Wednesday, the 28th of Shvat, 5785.
A quiet askon who helped many in the community, he worked on the staff of Mayor Eric Adas and Senator Jesse Hamilton, providing assistance to the Crown Heights Jewish community wherever he went.
“I was just notified that a long time civil servant and employee passed away,” Mayor Adams said on a recent call with the media. “Reuven Lipkind, many people from the Brooklyn community. He worked in my office. He worked in Jesse Hamilton’s office. He worked with my state senate office. Just a real hard-working member of the Crown Heights community. And to his wife, who also was a constituent service representative. You know, my heart goes out to him and his family and all those who knew him. Reuven Lipkind, just a great, great New Yorker and great Brooklynite.”
He is survived by his wife Arna, and children; Mendel Lipkind (Pennsylvania), Mrs. Devorah Weprin (Columbus, OH), Mrs. Nechama Azrak (Brooklyn), Chaya Lipkind (Brooklyn,) Esther Lipkind (North Miami Beach, FL), Eliezer Lipkind (Crown Heights), Baruch Lipkind (New York), Rachel Lipkind (New York), Shterna Lipkind (Crown Heights), and Yehuda Lipkind (Crown Heights).
The levaya will take place Thursday, February 27th, passing by 770 at 12:00pm with burial at Old Montefiore Cemetery at 1:00pm.
Shiva information to be announced.
