BDE: Mrs. Bracha Levertov, 90, OBM

With great sadness we report the passing of Mrs. Bracha Levertov OBM, a much-loved member of the Crown Heights community and Mikvah Director. She passed away on Sunday, the 25th of Tishrei, 5785.

She was 90 years old.

A long time member of the Crown Heights community, Mrs. Levertov was perhaps best known for her position as the director of the Union Street Mikvah where she helped thousands of women keep Taharas Hamishpacha.

She is survived by her children; Rabbi Yosef Levertov (Austin, TX), Mrs. Elka Matusof (Crown Heights), Mrs. Chana Marozow (Melbourne, Australia), Rabbi Berel Levertov (Santa Fe, NM), Rabbi Noteh Levertov (Aubervilliers, France), and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her siblings Mrs. Malka Sara Kuperman of Crown Heights and Rabbi Yankel Muskal of Crown Heights.

She was predeceased by her husband, Rabbi Moshe Levertov OBM.

The Levaya will take place today, Monday, passing the Union Street mikvah followed before passing 770 at approximately 2:30pm.

Shiva will be held at 688 Lefferts Ave, times to be announced.
