Update Released On The Future Bais Shmuel Chabad Building in Crown Heights
In an email regarding construction of their new building, Rabbi Moshe Pinson of Bais Shmuel Chabad released an update outlining the progress made so far.
I am thrilled to share some wonderful news about the progress of our new building project. After navigating a complex series of approvals, we have finally received verbal confirmation from several key city agencies. This milestone includes the much-anticipated approval from the Board of Standards and Appeals (BSA) for the addition of our 3rd and 4th floors and a rooftop Sukkah. Additionally, we have successfully cleared environmental studies and received complex approval from the DOT for the vault beneath the sidewalks, as well as approvals from the DEP and the Parks Department.
Stamped and sealed copies from each agency are on their way, BH! This journey has involved countless hearings and meetings, requiring continuous coordination between our dedicated team of architects, engineers, consultants, and expeditors. Each step demanded meticulous adjustments to our plans to meet the specific requirements of each agency.
We are also pleased to report that we have nearly finalized our approvals with the DOB and anticipate their final sign-off in the coming weeks. Our initial structural plans are complete, and we are currently finalizing our mechanical plans. Furthermore, we are advancing in several specialty projects, including the building’s facade, lighting, and acoustics.
As we eagerly anticipate the start of construction, we encourage each of you to reach out and help us schedule payments for the dedications that have been pledged. Your involvement will ensure that we do not face any further delays and can proceed to build our new home to completion as soon as we receive the final green light.
Thank you for your continued support and dedication to Bais Shmuel’s growth and improvement. We look forward to celebrating this new chapter together!
All talk no action
How come uly started and finished and is using its for a year before you started
All you take is our money

One is a school with regular tuition and salaries and the other is a shul that relies on donations and neders. Completely different projects. Kol HaKoved to the building progress!

May this never be built.
Directly across from the mikva.

Amen.

Just for your information, there was a building with apartments and windows, facing the Mikvha there before with a block full of stores.
Buford
Amen!
Crown Heights
Still not happy that it’s being done. That street corner will be full of people in the evenings, shabbos yom tov…. Not for a woman who wants her privacy .
Rochel
I agree. It’s ok to build something there ..but a shul with a social hall? It can be something that is only used during the day. Why do the women of the community have no say? It’s not right

Looks beautiful! Can’t wait!

There’s only so much privacy you can realistically have in the city. The entrances appear to be in the front side. Also, its not feasible for a lot to remain unbuilt like that for decades and decades.
Just me
All the windows on the side of Albany Av. are fake windows just for aesthetics.
Dovid
May this lot remain vacant!

Amen!
