PSA: Jewish Future Alliance and Shomrim Warn Of Protests Tomorrow
Dear Anash,
We have been made aware that “Within Our Lifetime,” an anti-Semitic group, has called for a demonstration and day of rage across New York City tomorrow, Monday, in protest of the heroic rescue by the IDF of the hostages. They list the Brooklyn Museum as a target location.
In the past, the NYPD has been able to control the situation at the museum. Unfortunately, the last time this group was there, they not only took over the area but also verbally harassed several members of Anash, with one member being physically assaulted.
We have reached out to the NYPD to ensure a safe pathway for people walking on the parkway and expect them to protect everyone passing through or going to the area.
Our recommendation for adults is not to change your route or schedule if you were planning to go to that area, but we advise not going there specifically to engage. We recommend children avoid the area to avoid being exposed to hateful rhetoric.
In the event of any incidents, it is important to call 911, file a police report, and call Shomrim.

Perhaps the crown heights council/ powers that be should suggest to the police that when they see these human shaped animals start getting out of hand, they should call the fire department and hose them down.

I strongly advice to carry pepper gel spray, making ourselves familiar with how to use it, and to try to keep a safe distance from protestors. But it they charge at us, have the pepper spray handy. It is easier to call for help or run from danger when the attackers can’t open their eyes.
Do use your best judgment, and as a first measure, as I said, keep a safe distance.
