Construction Wraps Up On “The Gregory” At 991 Saint Johns Place In Crown Heights

Work is nearing completion on The Gregory, a school-turned-rental conversion in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Located at 991 Saint Johns Place, St. Gregory the Great School was built in 1921 by Helme & Corbett. In 2011, the building was declared structurally compromised, requiring immediate vacancy. The conversion came to fruition with a team that includes GEMA Capital Partners and PKSB Architecture. Construction consisted of a complete structural overhaul, full façade restoration, a complementary two-story addition, and three-story horizontal expansion.

Rents begin at $3,437 per month, and Shloma Hecht from The Corcoran Group is exclusively handling leasing at the property.

First of all, read what it says. These aren’t condos; they’re apartments for rent.

Second, yes, here you’re not going to get a yard or a driveway unless you pay a lot more. Brooklyn is quite crowded, you know.

Third, maybe you need to put the blame where it belongs – on the politicians whose laws and regulations make everything a lot more expensive.
