The Friendship Circle of Brooklyn has announced the good news that they have closed on a 6,000 square foot property on Rutland Road.

“Mazel tov! Today marked the biggest milestone moment in Friendship Circles history,” They wrote on their Facebook page Thursday night. “After months of patiently waiting, we have finally sealed the deal and are the proud owners of a 6000sq foot property on Rutland Rd.”

News if the purchase began filtering out in September of 2023 when the Friendship Circle published a social media post announcing that they had signed on a property.

“With gratitude to Hashem, and to the Rebbe for His incredible Brochos, we are thrilled to share that we have signed a contract to purchase a future home and community center for Friendship Circle of Brooklyn,” the Rabbi Berel and Chani Majesky wrote. “Strategically located at the crossroads of traditional Crown Heights, and the rapidly growing communities of East Flatbush and Remsen Village, our new 6000 sq. ft. property with indoor and outdoor space will enable us to continue serving over 250 local families raising individuals with special needs. Additionally, it will act as a community center for their extended families, our rapidly growing volunteer base, and the broader community.”

Friendship Circle of Brooklyn is a non-profit organization that provides assistance and support to nearly two hundred individuals with special needs and their families by providing recreational, social, educational, and vocational programming. In addition to helping those in need, the Friendship Circle enriches its vast network of volunteers by enabling them to reap the rewards of selfless giving.

“With a buildable square footage of over 30,000 sq. ft., this location will allow us to build a befitting center that caters to the unique needs of our community,” they wrote.

Releases by the organization showed renderings of the future building, with a modern design that have many looking forward to having in the community.

Looking forward to the growth and innovation that this new community center will bring to our community!
