CSSY’S Annual Toy Drive Brings Chanukah Spirit to All

Chanukah, a particularly beloved time for children, has been made even more memorable for hundreds in the Crown Heights community thanks to Chevras Simchas Shabbos V’Yom Tov’s (CSSY) Chanukah Toy Drive.

Amid dreidel games, menorah lightings, donuts, and the allure of Chanukah gelt, it’s easy to forget that not every child gets to experience the magic of receiving beautiful, brand-new toys. Many hardworking families in Crown Heights struggle to afford the extras that make Chanukah special for their children.

In the merit of a refuah shelaima for Schneur Zalman Ben Rendel, CSSY organized a Chanukah Toy Drive. The response was overwhelming, with hundreds of toys generously donated to ensure every child could feel the lichtigkeit and simcha of Chanukah.

CSSY extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Archers Project for their substantial toy donation. They also thank the many families who sponsored gifts and toys, ensuring that every child in Crown Heights who needed them could participate in this initiative.

Through the generosity and achdus of the Crown Heights community, hundreds of children choose a beautiful, brand-new toy just for them. Each child also received Chanukah gelt, as is the Chabad minhag.

For Benjy Stock, Director of CSSY, seeing the smiles on kid’s faces makes it all worth it. For him, the success of this year’s Toy Drive is what Chanukah is all about–bringing the light of Chanukah outward to all in our community.
