CSSY Releases Donor Appreciation Report

Dear Friends,

It’s hard to believe that Tishrei ended a little over a month ago. I want to personally thank you for your generous support over these last few months, which has saved families within our community. Your generosity has been a lifeline for people grappling with daunting challenges.

Families who were struggling to put food on their tables, parents who lacked the financial means to provide essential therapies for their children’s well-being—your support has been a yeshuah for them. Moreover, your contributions have been pivotal in preserving marriages within our community by providing critical counseling and care, ensuring that children grow up in a more secure and stable environment.

Too many of our neighbors and friends are suffering from addiction, mental health challenges, and financial hardships, and far too often, innocent children bear the brunt of these burdens. More and more individuals are turning to CSSY for assistance, and your generous partnership ensures that no one is turned away empty-handed.

From weekly food vouchers, filling backpacks with essential supplies to enabling families to celebrate Yom Tov with dignity, every dollar you contribute to CSSY has a direct and meaningful impact on YOUR community. Part of the beauty of your generosity is that you don’t know whose life you’re touching. It could be your next-door neighbor, your chavrusa, a relative, a dear friend, or even your child’s classmate.

Your commitment ensures that, at CSSY, we live up to the mandate given to us by our Rebbe: to care for those in need within our community. Your support transforms this mandate into a daily reality, particularly during these past few months, as our community has grappled with the additional pressures of back-to-school expenses and the financial demands of Tishrei. As Yidden, we are facing exceptionally challenging times, and may the merit of your tzedakah and achdus usher in brochos for all of Klal Yisroel.

Tishrei

Thank you for the incredible impact you’ve made on the Crown Heights community throughout the month of Tishrei.

– 475 families received food vouchers or cash grants to put food on their table.
– 250 families received additional assistance for Sukkos and Simchas Torah.
– 125 families received credit on their accounts at local grocery stores.
– 50 emergency Yom Tov related grants were given to help families in our community.

Back to School with CSSY

Thanks to you, over 400 children started the new school year with a backpack full of all the essential school supplies and stationery necessary for a successful school year.

You gave every child in our community the confidence they need to make the school year successful by providing them with the essential tools to excel in their studies. Each backpack was thoughtfully filled with notebooks, folders, pencils, erasers, markers, rulers, and more.

We thank the local store for generous discounts on back-to-school essentials for CSSY families. Their partnership maximizes your donation, ensuring CSSY can help every family in need.

Showing Up for our Crown Heights Community

When a crisis strikes, when a teenager is in dire need of expensive inpatient mental health treatment, when a young couple requires urgent marriage counseling, and when a father is finally ready to address the addiction tearing apart their family, what happens when the funds to cover these life-saving interventions are lacking? For families in Crown Heights, they knew that, 24 hours a day, they can turn to CSSY for vital financial assistance.

In the face of an escalating mental health crisis within our community, people are crying out for help, pleading to save their children and their marriages. The costs of these treatments may be exorbitant, but they are undeniably necessary. Seeking support from CSSY means a family can receive the help they need while preserving their dignity and respect.

Beyond mere financial support, CSSY is there for the entire family, offering a listening ear and a shoulder to lean on.

Over the past three months, CSSY has assisted so many families and individuals. More than just financial assistance, CSSY has provided invaluable support, from covering the costs of funerals for three people in our community to counselling parents and teenagers, and reassuring every family that they don’t have to face these challenges alone.

There is a community to help support you. There are people who care.

By donating to CSSY, every dollar you contribute sends a powerful message to our community members: you are not alone. Thank you for caring. Thank you for funding a stay in rehab or providing mental health treatment. Your partnership with CSSY has saved lives in our community.
