Transportation Logistics:

Given potential challenges such as traffic, walking to the rally site, and security, we strongly recommend that groups arrive in Washington, DC no later than 11:30 am.

Anticipating a significant turnout, particularly in the already bustling environment of Washington, DC, organizers advise small groups and individuals to consider parking near RFK Stadium and walking to the National Mall. Alternatively, taking the Metro to the Smithsonian stop, which is close to the main entrance, is another convenient option.

For buses heading directly to Washington, DC, be prepared to park and drop off passengers at a considerable distance from the rally site. While this may involve a substantial walk, it will also be an additional opportunity to march with fellow supporters of Israel.

Major Construction Planned for Crown Heights

A major construction project is scheduled for Kingston Ave from President Street to Eastern Parkway and President Street between Kingston and Albany.

The New York City Department of Design and Construction will replace the combined sewer and water main along President Street, between Kingston Avenue and Albany Avenue, and the sewer in Kingston Avenue, between President Street and Eastern Parkway. These upgrades will help alleviate flooding and improve water distribution and fire protection in Crown Heights. The cost of the project is approximately 8 million dollars.

We helped coordinate this week a meeting with Community Board 9 and the Kingston Ave Store Owners Association, holding discussions with the city regarding the project.

The projected date for the project is from January 2024 to September 2025.

There may be possible water shut-offs on President Street or on Kingston for a few hours at a time, but notice will be given on the Friday before. Additionally, there will be no parking during different phases of the project and potential street closures.

This will undoubtedly affect traffic in the area and local businesses. We are committed to helping to disseminate information and notify the city of major holidays or events where street obstruction is not feasible.

We will also establish a WhatsApp group with updates for residents of these blocks and store owners. To be added to the WhatsApp group, send an email to director@thejfa.org.
