Weeks leading up to school can be stressful. Tuition, teachers, busses, lunches, and…. School supplies!

Think about your first day of school. Your backpack, full of brand new notebooks, files, along with sparkling school supplies. Your new shoes and uniform waiting for the morning. Those supplies give a special sense of excitement for the new school year ahead.

For many hardworking parents, back-to-school expenses are beyond their budget. Families are battling to pay for everything their children need to start the new school year.

Tuition is already a burden expense and adding on top of that supplies for families with many children. This is on top of the cost of living and basic needs.

Last year Chevre Simchas Shabbos V’Yom Tov brought smiles to over 350 children with backpacks full of essential school supplies. This year it will be over 400!

One Crown Heights community member, Rivkie Boyarsky, founder of Bodiesandsouls.com, as well as her followers, have been active contributors to this initiative, “I hope that others will also partner with CSSY and help these children as they prepare for school”. Benji Stock, director of CSSY, explains; “We want to ensure that every child in Crown Heights can walk into their classroom at the start of the school year confident that they have the supplies they need to make their year a success.

This campaign is in the zechus of a complete Refuah Shelaima for Shneur Zalman ben Rendel.

CSSY is asking for your generous partnership and support. Your participation will bring a smile and joy to a child and help alleviate many parents’ tremendous financial strain at the start of the school year.
