Shidduch House – A New Hotspot in Crown Heights Hosts A Tour Group
It’s a busy Thursday at the Shidduch House, singles coming in for an interview, profiles being shared and suggestions being made, when the doorbell rings. In walk seven women, from varied walks of life, visiting from the Skylake Chabad community in sunny Florida. Luckily the weather has cooperated and they feel right at home. They are welcomed graciously and the warm vibe beckons them inside. They have brought lunch with them and get comfortable around the big seating table waiting with curiosity to discover what the Shidduch House is all about.
The Shidduch House is one of their many exciting stops during their packed agenda on their two day visit to the Crown Heights community with their Rebbetzin Mrs. Hindy Rosenberg, including 770, the Ohel, and the mikvah to name a few. They have come to see, learn and experience.
They listen intently with great interest as the whole shidduch process is explained in detail starting from the carefully written resume, through the dating, and up until the engagement. They learn the valuable role that a Shadchan plays in setting up singles and the different things that need to come together to make a match. They understand that ultimately it’s about building Jewish homes.
They are fascinated to hear about all the different functions and events that take place at the Shidduch House on a daily basis. They have many questions and receive detailed responses to each one. A shadchan has arrived to meet with a single who has scheduled a private appointment. She joins the discussion for a few minutes and shares her passion about why she got into shidduchim. They are truly intrigued and impressed by the dedication and warmth.
The coffee cups are now empty. One hour has quickly flown by. Phone numbers are exchanged, hugs all around and a quick snapshot to capture the magic of the moment.
But no time to linger, onto the next stop.
The feedback was heartwarming, as expressed by some of the women in the group:
“I really enjoyed visiting the Shidduch House this past week.
I believe it’s a great resource to have, especially if things are not going as expected in your shidduch journey.
The Shadchanim we met there were lovely, caring, and it felt really easy and comfortable talking to them.
I believe this house can provide a lot of guidance and resources for everyone to succeed in their shidduch journey and make it a joyful and meaningful experience.
Thank you !

“We live in a very unconventional world in which we turn our heads to technology and other factors to help us find the right person. By trusting these methods we often forget that they lack the human component of simple connections. An app or an algorithm is not going to know you better than your family or friends. We often look for what we want and not what we need in hopes that it will fit in our complicated jigsaw. The women of the Shidduch House are not only there to find you a match, but to find you the continuation to your jigsaw puzzle that will continue to build with you and extend the picture that is your life. One thing that stood out to me the most was the notion of respect and discretion during their process. They genuinely want to stand in your corner and root for your happiness because they themselves know it works and have incredible stories to share. They are truly there to listen and guide you in your journey, because we all know that we could use a little help sometimes.”
