CSSY To Again Assist Crown Heights Families With Back To School Expenses
Back-to-school expenses can be exorbitant, and many Crown Heights families are battling to pay for everything their children need to start the new school year. Instead of focusing on making sure their children have everything needed for a successful year of growth, they are losing sleep, trying to figure out how they are going to pay for the bare minimum.
And every year, the list of things children need for school seems to grow.
Pencil. Crayons. Endless notebooks. Backpacks. Lunchboxes. Uniforms. School Shoes.
But one Crown Heights organization is showing up for these families and helping with the financial stress a new school year can bring.
Once again, Chevras Simchas Shabbos V’Yom Tov will distribute backpacks full of essential school supplies for children in the Crown Heights community.
The backpacks are being distributed in the merit of a Refua Sheleima for Shneur Zalman Ben Rendel.
“CSSY is dedicated to providing the needy of the Crown Heights community, with anything necessary.” Says Benjy Stock, director of CSSY.
Studies have shown that when children feel prepared for the new school year, they do better in school. Arriving equipped for the school day also helps them feel confident in their ability to succeed in the classroom. Rather than depending on others for supplies, they feel independent and capable with the necessary supplies to learn and grow.
CSSY will be distributing these backpacks on a first come-first serve basis. If you need a backpack for your child/ren, please email office@cssy.org with the number of bags needed and to schedule a time for pick up.
