I once asked a great tzaddik, why is it that we never hear of a frum yid winning the lottery? He answered me, because Hashem has rachmunis on us! And then he explained, when a goy from nowhere land wins the lottery, at most a yid feels envious and wishes it would have been him instead. But if Chas v’shulem a yid in your shtibel wins the lottery…every otheryid in shul will be sick from jelousy!
